Part of my build: Benny's Build They often call this part “cat back exhaust’ or ‘Catalytic Converter Back’ or rather back from the catalytic converter…. There is one more piece to the complete system which is the “center pipe” .

What is the center pipe? It’s not needed right?

The center pipe (I believe) comes off the engine down to the catalytic converter. So the full set up is Center Pipe-Cat-Cat Back Exhaust. And No, it's not needed.

Got it. Sounds like the “center pipe” is essentially a down pipe. How are you liking the cat back?

Yep... LOVE it! A much better look than the stock exhaust and just a touch of growl, but not too much.

Just ordered it. Hopefully I like it! Assuming there isn’t any drone given it’s OEM..

I have the $995 TRD exhaust factory installed option and can report no drone.

It’s gotta be a placebo but I feel like losing that huge resonator has added a little bit more low and mid range power. Engine seems to enjoy the reduced back pressure. That’s what I tell myself anyways.

The Taco sounds happier in my humble opinion 😀🌮…. And looks better too!

It really does add a nice deep sound without being loud. I was a bit apprehensive as I’m no longer a kid and didn’t want to “rice” out the truck with a tacky, loud exhaust but It checks all the right boxes. Definitely the OEM+ vibe I’m going for with my truck. I was so disappointed with the lack of sound prior to it, especially with the windows down it just didn’t have any excitement. Stock tailpipe didn’t fit the aggressive and sporty nature of the TRD models IMO.
