I wonder if a nice coat of a rubbery paint would hold up better long term than the electrical tapeSo I decided to wrap the left and right bed latches with electrical tape. It seems to prevent the tailgate from shifting left/right. I intentionally hit speed bumps and jerked to wheel left/right to test and it didn’t move. I’m sure if you hit a big bump in the road or go 4 wheeling then it will move but otherwise it seems all good. Don’t over wrap it with electrical tape or else it will not unlatch itself if you have the power tailgate.
Yeah maybe. I will explore other options when I have more time. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.I wonder if a nice coat of a rubbery paint would hold up better long term than the electrical tape
I have a 2024 Tacoma Limited. Had the issue with the power tailgate not closing all the way. Got that fixed. My other issue is the gap on the left side of our tailgate is bigger than the gap on the right side. Service department tells me this is how the 24 models are made. Anyone else notice if their tailgate is off like this? Pictures attached.
Same thing in my (non-power) 2024 Tacoma Offroad...and when you open it the left side latch makes a pop sound like it's under a stress. Not good at all.I have a 2024 Tacoma Limited. Like you my 2024 Off Road has the tailgate gap left, and the bumper gap as well. Terrible.Check the back driver side bumper. There is also a significant gap compared to the opposite side. Looks as if the bumper hasn’t been properly bolted in.
