Very glad I got my truck before that! I hope Toyota will move Tacoma production to Texas, its where they should be. My old 3G Tacoma was built in Texas.

My 2nd gen was built in California and my Tundra was built in Texas, and both were perfect. I know that Toyota builds a lot of the vehicles sold in the US inside our country. Automakers in today's world build their products with parts from all around the world, which is the same for most things made today.

Just one more clarification on the parts tariffs. If parts are made in the US and then put into vehicles made outside the US, the vehicle will be tariffed when imported, but not the parts made here. Figure that one out!

Unless the importing country puts their own tariff on it.

I just looked at the dealer (in Missoula) where I bought my OR with the Premium package.

They have the same truck "in transit" with a price tag of $10,000 over what I paid for mine. Crazy.

Wow - that is one impressive gouge!

I guess we all knew this stuff was coming but somehow we were hoping that dealers would not take advantage. That was silly, of course they will abuse buyers up to whatever they can get away with. Maybe I can drive my truck for a few years and sell it for a profit. But by then all trucks will probably be out of my price range.

Here's hoping my dealer honors the price that I negotiated on for a TRD Sport :whew:
I'm in the same boat. Signed a deal about a month ago and delivery is scheduled April 26th. Hopefully no price increase. If there is, I have the right to kill the deal.
My dealer said that Toyota would spread the tariff across the board to every car if it happens.

That's the MSRP, which, of course, is set by Toyota.
Seriously? I assumed that was the dealer's price and not MSRP. If the MSRP goes up by that much Taco sales will tank, there is no questions in my mind about that.

I have seen that prediction too. If that is how it plays out then already high car/truck prices will go up further, but Tacoma sales might not die, because even the domestic producers will have to raise prices. One analyst predicts that car production might go down by 30% after this all sorts out.

I stopped by the dealer for the free 5k service (total waste of time....no oil change included, only "topped off the fluids") and ran into my salesman. Poor guy says they don't have any Land Cruisers or 4Runners on the lot for sale because they are being held at the port or somewhere until Apr 2. Does that even make any sense? I haven't been following too closely, but isn't it that tariffs aren't in place yet, but they're planned to start Apr 2? And if so, wouldn't they all be incentivized to push cars through and sell them as fast as possible before then?
