The franchise model is important. If pricing was fixed Toyota could charge whatever they want, guaranteed that would lead to higher pricing. Smart path is misleading bc dealers may honor the price but add in other crap. Competition is always best in every market! I’m able to get such good deals bc other people pay msrp or over invoice. So it’s either everyone pays the same (Tesla model) or educated consumers that do research are rewarded and those that buy emotionally or in a hurry are taken advantage of.I tried at a local dealer, never heard anything back from them.
Another dealer used a trade appraisal service on there website, when I went in they offered me $8k less than what the service recommended.
I messaged @Jrouleau426 at 8:30am and had an under MSRP offer by 11:30am that no dealer I'm my state would come close to. Dealers need to go the way of the dinosaurs IMO.
