The 2024 owner’s manual depicts a simple front and back tire rotation pattern (tires remain on the left and right sides respectively). Is this correct for four wheel drive Tacomas? Is there another manual with more detail on maintenance and service?
There are several reasons for keeping the tires on the same side, such as improved performance and avoiding confusion for those who are stupid. I plan to use the crossover method unless I notice any unusual wear issues, which I doubt will occur.
Generally if you are gong to do a cross rotation, it’s the drag wheels (fronts) that cross to the back Not the rears that cross. Theres no reason to cross non directional wheels on a rotation.
