Tried that - but these aftermarket TPMs need to be programmed first before they will be recognized apparently.
What brand of TPMS did they install? They should have programmed them for your year, make and model before installing? Without knowing the brand of TPMS there is no "cheap" version to actually PROGRAM the sensors. You would need a tire shop that has a fully unlocked TPMS tool that programs all brands of TPMS.
I just went through this with my new tires/wheels with tpms from TireRack. Tried the reset tire pressure and 2nd set as in the truck settings. Did this several times and got some pressure sensing but it would come and go. Finally I saw in manual where it said to do the reset and drive 10-30 minutes at 25-35 mph and that worked. No programming device needed. I only drove a few minutes at that speed and it worked. Maybe do a few careful snake turns while driving which the manual also mentions to help locate new wheel position. Hope that helps.
