Turn off headlights off

Just curious is there any way possible to turn off headlights and daytime running lights completely off when truck is on . . I tried few times but did n t work . When idling if i turn off headlights it will keep daytime lights on .

Yes, there is a setting. I access it from the big ass 14” screen on my OR. If you look in the customizations close to the end of the owners guide, the DRL setting is there, too. Page 643.

I doubt we get that choice in Canada.

I think the only choice we have is to put the headlight switch in the parking light postition and have your parling lights on...and the fogs too if you want.

yes i guess in canada these trucks dont have option to turn off

Read it somewhere that in canada after 2012 bcz off government regulation cars will have some kind lights always stay on . My civic will keep daytime running lights on if i turn off headlights . This tacoma will keep parking lights still on if i turn headlights off .

Thank gosh Toyota made a vehicle with headlamps that don’t shut off. As annoying as Toyota is with seatbelt chimes etc. it sure is nice they make vehicles with headlights that don’t shut off. Far too many yo-yo‘s driving around at night with no headlamps on. Car manufacturers sure made idiots out of motorists so much so that now they have to make a vehicle with headlamps that can’t be shut off.

Yeah on my truck there is a DRL Off position on the stalk. Probably an oversight by our government minders. It looks like Canada has you boys under better control.
