I understand there have been some discussions on warped windshield cowl, and I would like to share my specific case and see this is considered to be “normal”. I’m not sure if it’s worth doing something about it. The gap is about 1/4” at the center and 6” long. Let me know your thoughts.

I agree with @Sagebrush - that should be a warranty fix.

Mine did not have that at all when I got it, but a small gap has opened up over 4 months. I need to check that again - if it has grown very much I plan to take that up with my dealer. It is a fairly common problem, so any honest dealer should not be surprised when you ask.

Same issue on mine in several places. Showed it to the dealer and they replaced it no problem. He went out and looked at all the Tacos on their lot and said all but one had the same problem.

My dealer fixed this on my truck. Normal maybe, but not in spec.

It is good that your dealer took care of this Tim. I think my dealer will too, but I have not talked to them about this yet. What worries me is that mine was fine when I got it. Other people have had this happen after owning their trucks for a while too. It makes you wonder if the replacements will do the same thing.

Toyota seems to have had more than the usual amount of problems getting new parts developed and produced for 4th gen Tacos. I just hope that the replacements are of better quality.

I think the original seal was too long and not installed correctly. The dealer said it was a known issue. Similarly, the plastic rails were lifting up right behind the cab and they addressed that also.
