What's up with my MPG? TRD Sport 2024

Tacoma 2024 TRD Sport, nothing extra, reset 2 weeks ago the MPG from the dealer, I am still getting 16 mpg, wtf??? shouldn't be at least 20 mpg?

This has been my experience as well, I don't think Toyota had their best and brightest designing this truck . I do think they designed this with alternative fuel/drivetrains in mind. The size of the tank, terrible efficiency...almost seems like the ICE drivetrain was not the ultimate goal. Toyota is obviously more capable than this.

I’ve been reading this thread so I rechecked mine yesterday. I drove home from Nashville on regular gas doing between 75 and 80 miles an hour and got 21.3 miles per gallon. I filled up with 93 octane and I’ll let you know how I do on that one. The only modification that matters is I remove the air dam day one.

If you drive it really slow you’ll get that 20 plus but let’s face it that turbo is hard to not let loose

Yeah… slow like as in don’t touch the gas pedal and let gravity do its job

You need the turbo in order to get the thing to accelerate like a normal vehicle, it's not like you're in the turbo because you're pushing it...the truck relies on it pretty heavily.
