Good morning, I am looking to purchase an aluminum skid plate. I would like one that has easy access to changing oil and oil filter. Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I recently added the MCX plate and really like it. Posted write-up of it here couple weeks back if you want to see it (included pics of access to both oil filter and drain plug).

I too just installed the Miller MCX skid plate and catalytic cover. Excellent product and very well made with covered openings for oil filter and drain plug. Plus it’s made in the USA.

I really like my Victory 4x4 skid plate. Using a Fumoto valve will make it easier to deal with the drain plug, been using Fumoto for years. I like how it's compatible with all trim models.
Does it need a cross member bar?

Would I need to buy a separate cross member if I do not have one?

I went with the Toyota TRD plate. It doesn't have oil access but gives good coverage and is easily removed.

Fumoto works so great. I keep a hose attached to mine and just pull it down into my drain pan when I need to drain the oil. Works awesome.

Now that I've done my first oil change I have a question for you. My Fumoto drain hose connector is brass, and as I was reinstalling my Victory 4x4 skid plate, the drain hose adaptor popped off the drain valve. Is there a secret to keeping the drain hose adaptor on the valve?

Which Fumoto drain valve are you guys using? I also like the Victory skid plate because of the straight bolt on no other cross bar needed bonus.

That said, the F133N is also a solid choice. Admittedly, with a do over, I would go with the F133N. It's recessed enough to not need the adjustability.

I have the Victory skid plate on my TRD Sport 6MT. Dealer did 2 oil changes, nothing had to be removed except the filter access port.

No cross member needed, and factory retrieval points can be used.
