To confirm, those are 275x70x18's? Why do they seem so much bigger than the stocks?

Confirmed. Because of 2 things. The stock wranglers are made of paper and run small/ shrink from the weight of the truck (I already have a leak on one tire). These KO3s and Falkens are more true to size. Second, an inch is actually quite a lot when it comes to diameter. @Lets_Taco_Bout_It got the KO3s in this size and loves them. Still heavier than I’d like and I’m considering the Geolander AT4 and Nokian, but no longer think I need bigger than 275/70/18

Amen brother. You made the right choice. For me, 275’s are the perfect blend of grip, aggressiveness, E weight, and mpg impact.

Exactly. The Discount Tire guys disagreed with each other on whether the Falkens or KO3s were a better ride but they all thought the size was good

The great thing is, if you’re not happy, just switch em out. Best place for tires (@Discount Tire )

That's killer, super helpful. I'm really leaning into the Ko3's.

Ready to pull the trigger on the K03's. 275 is the right choice you think? Any significant change in road noise, acceleration, coasting with the extra weight?

That's killer, super helpful. I'm really leaning into the Ko3's.

Same. I’ve just never had E Loads and I’m just imagining the truck riding like it’s on bricks lol

Ready to pull the trigger on the K03's. 275 is the right choice you think? Any significant change in road noise, acceleration, coasting with the extra weight?
Not as dramatic/extreme as it was with the 285’s. Much less vibration and noise.

For what it’s worth, DT said the Falkens run smoother and softer but the KO3s are superior off-road

What’s so weird to me is people say the KO3 rides like trash. And then people say the same about the Falken. Then other people say the opposite. It’s probably a variety of factors including suspension and manufacturing variables .. but fuck if I cannot get a consistent trend on which tire is smoother/ better. Tire rack and DT websites have them really close but KO3 on top - but I think there’s a conspiracy and BFG pays people to give good reviews lol. There’s a good YouTube video of a guy testing both in E load with his Porsche cayenne and he says both are great:

Do you get vibration in the steering wheel? And how much firmer is the ride than OEM?

Y’all are way over thinking all of this.. however I used to be the same way. I used to run only premium brand name tires and pay out the nose for them. While I know that the BFGs and Falkens have a great track record, it’s ok to branch out to other brands. If you have to have a premium tire to be the cool kid, by all means get what makes you happy,, but if you’re looking for performance it’s ok to go another route. This is what I’m running right now, and I gotta say it’s a great tire. I’m a more offroad oriented driver, so the more aggressive tread favours my needs considerably, but it still rides smooth on the highway. Best of all, they are almost half the price of the aforementioned “name brand” tires. I’m on 295s and would buy these again.

I give zero fucks about being cool - just want the best tire for me and it’s nearly impossible to sort that out until you try them on your truck. Thinking about Nokians which are the least cool tire possible.
