Honestly I feel like Toyota corporate is running some heavy analytics and data pulls on remaining inventory, most popular trims/colors/locations, and all things sales data related. Trying to hone in on what customer/public acceptance was for 2024...then they'll move forward with 2025 model pricing accordingly...to what they feel buyers will accept. Price will never go down, that's the only guarantee. I find it interesting that GM is also holding back on 2025 Colorado/Canyon pricing...waiting for Toyota to make a move. Gotta love corporate greed

I should add...2024 is likely an anomaly for them in the Tacoma line...(lots of remaining inventory at year end, in the US anyway). Something they don't see with this model. They are studying it for sure

100% agree. The fact that the are the highest price midsize and having the same quality struggles as the competition isnā€™t helping them. Saw my first Trailhunter on the lot and it was over $68k and that didnā€™t include any ADM either. Had been there for 4 days with no taker. Add high interest rates to the mix and people are just hitting their limits and hitting the pause button.

Going To get even worse for Toyota if Trumps new tariffs hit since production is in Mexico.

More than half the vehicles on the lot at my local Toyota dealer are Tundras or Tacomas. Counted 40 total when I was there yesterday. SR5s in particular are not moving very fast, even w/3-4K discounts on the window. Saw a beautiful TRD-OR LB in bronze oxide with all the fixins' but its just not a justifiable purchase for someone with a sub-100K 3rd gen thats been customized to meet my needs.

Toyota went too aggro on pricing at the same time they went hard on some modernization choices that not everyone agreed with.

I really think they are just letting inventory get as low as they can because as soon as they make the 25 official 24 sales will really slow down.

I'm patiently waiting the new color choices for the PreRunner since Solar Octane is so hard find in a extended cab. Hoping the 25s are announced soon, only 5 more weeks before the New Year.

I had to laugh at the guy who bought the Maverick. As many of us know you have to out and grab it. Blue is in short supply but they were available. Unless your in a major population center, waiting for one to arrive that is outfitted to your specs is just like playing the lottery.

Yes and no. Because of inflation, everything went up about 20% from 2019, and with the market demanding SUVā€™s and pickups, 46k 3rd gens became 55k 4th gens. Just because the rate of inflation is down, doesnā€™t mean the price of things go down, they are just going up more slowly.

That said, when the market is oversupplied due to high costs and interest on discretionary spending items, like new trucks, discounting occurs on existing supply, as weā€™ve been seeing for the last few months.

Toyota is smart to hold off on announcing the 25ā€˜s since that would put additional discounting pressure on the existing stock of 24ā€™s.

Now with the tariff announcement, the discounting pressure may ease as sellers realize that some buyers will enter the new pickup market while they can before the tariffā€™s hit. Even if they donā€™t, those driven by the fear that they will, will pay more now. Market psychology is interesting For sure.

They have not announced anything but they are showing up on the web site. Only thing missing is color and some are all ready listed as sold.
