I filed a complaint with Toyota Brand Engagement last week over 4 missed delivery dates. Squeaky wheel got greased and part arrived at my dealer today! How about now? Lol
Oh that’s awesome! How did you order it? Did you go through the parts shop at dealer or online? How much was it? What are they charging you to install?I filed a complaint with Toyota Brand Engagement last week over 4 missed delivery dates. Squeaky wheel got greased and part arrived at my dealer today!

I got frustrated after 4 missed dates and filed a complaint with Toyota. I don't fault the dealer. I looked up the part when I got the part number from the dealer and it wasn't that expensive. This is all covered under warranty. Part is 66249-AK050.
Bed scene rails are original equipment on the Trailhunter trim.

that makes so much more sense. I have an off road. I guess I have to wait some more. Thank you!Bed scene rails are original equipment on the Trailhunter trim.
You've got a part number for the DS now.Oh okay. So you ordered it before you took delivery of the truck? My dealer could not find anything with a part number I got from the forum. I had the director of parts look for it and she couldn’t either. I guess my question is how was your dealer able to identify a part number that my dealer couldn’t? I don’t expect u to know but it’s just frustrating. I would benefit so much from these lights.
So that confirms it's the plastic cap only... And not even the part that's malfunctioning for you!!My part number above is the plastic rail only. Missing the harness and bulbs for the bed scene rail! Nobody knew last July that it wasn't a fully integrated part! Dealer has had Toyota tech support on calls all day identifying ALL the parts to fix my bed rail! I still don't have a working DS bed scene rail yet. I've given my local dealer the Brand Engagement contact that expedited the rail. Someday...
PS...Toyota corp tech can't even find the part number for the rail wiring harness!!! They've been building the Trailhunter for almost 9 months if not more!!! Sheez...
Yep. What came in was the cap only. No bulbs, no wiring harness. Either could be causing the short. So that confirms it's the plastic cap only... And not even the part that's malfunctioning for you!!
So sorry to be hearing this saga unfold for you. At least it's more a cosmetic/courtesy feature (doesn't make it right in the slightest, only more tolerable for a longer timeline)
Keep us posted. Will be very curious what the part list of the full assembly ends up being
