Disturbing issue with door locks

I just found a critical issue with my 2025 TRD Sport Premium. If i lock all the doors, remove keys and smart key from the vehicle, Anyone can open the doors by sticking their hand inside the front drivers side door handle. I took the keys and smart key 100 feet from my truck and my wife walked up to the truck and opened the doors by sticking her hand in the front door handle. Anyone else able to replicate this? I just called the dealer.

Perhaps the truck has a credit card fob inside?

Update. If you have the toyota app on your phone, You can unlock the doors with your hand. My phone was in the garage with the truck so anyone could open the door. Don’t leave your phone in your truck!

I never activated the digital key. I’ll check my locks first sure!

My phone was in the garage for listening to Sirius on my bluetooth so the phone was locked. I am. or sure but since I have the digital key, it may connect when you are close to the truck and be running even if you don’t have the app up on your phone.

I had the same problem and I brought it into service. I brought both keys with me and they asked about my credit card key. The dealer told me my truck didn't come with a credit card key. Service found it tucked between the driver seat and center console. That solved all my problems.

If the app is open you cannot step out and lock the doors. They will immediately unlock with a chime. But if the app is closed, you can lock the door and step out with your phone still inside the vehicle. I did it once with my dog inside and I didn't have my wallet key or fob with me.

It’s smart enough to know whether my phone is inside outside the car, I guess, but that’s not great if someone follows behind as I’m walking away and then they unlock my truck. I wonder what the range is for the phone (or frankly, even my key fob) to be active.

Good info ! My phone wasn’t inside my truck, it was sitting on my counter i. the garage So it was detected, which allowed the door to be open. Good news that if the phone is inside the truck you can’t lock the doors! It’s. learning experience.

I read a similar account in another thread and tried opening the front door with my keys and credit card key in my house (30 feet away).

The door didn’t unlock. The fob’s range is pretty short. Like 25 feet.
