Extended warranty?

Ive never gotten an extended warranty before but I am 100% getting them from now on. There are too many electronics now from appliances to vehicles. I didn't realize you could shop around for the factory extended warranties.

Told myself before that I would never buy extended warranty but ended up purchasing 100K/10yr extended factory warranty, not 3rd party, for $2500, normally $4000. Cancellable anytime for prorated refund.

It depends on the company. For auto insurance, I had the lowest premiums and the worst service with Progressive. I pay higher premiums now with Country Financial, but we had two collisions in the past decade and they were 10x better. I had Amica in the past and they were also very good.

I realize this is not the same as extended warranties, and I know these are some seriously scuzz ball insurers out there.

Are you referring to ToyotaCare Plus or Platinum Extra Care? Gotta purchase ToyotaCare Plus at a dealership before your 2 year complimentary expires I believe.

The extended warranties are a different ball of wax. I'm getting the 7 year 125K extended:

My last 3 vehicles (Honda CRV, Ram 2500 and Toyota Highlander Hybrid) I had purchased the factory extended warranty and, in each case, I had to use them and they easily paid for themselves twice over. Just remember that these are very negotiable when you do the dreaded visit to the finance guy/gal. I paid 2 grand for the 10 year platinum with no deductible on my "24 Tacoma Off Road Premium. With all the tech on the truck I'm sure something will happen after 36,000 miles.
