Looking for suggestions, I took my truck back to the dealership on Tuesday with this same issue, which I bought new about 3 weeks ago, they told me they found a loose hose and reconnected it, the next day I have the same water leak so I decide to remove a panel and look for myself, what they really had done was put sealant on the cracked ac box hoping that would fix it, needless to say I was beyond pissed. I took the truck back with pictures that I took of their repair job along with copies of this thread because I had read this before I even took the truck back the first time, I asked for the service manager but he was to busy to see me, so one of his sidekicks come out to assist me, after showing him the pictures of their shady ass work, I’ve never heard so many apologies in my life so to make a long story short, my truck is at the dealership with no ETA on parts to fix it. Just looking for ideas on how to handle this situation.. Thanks for reading and for any suggestions.

you trust the dealer to replace that after lying to you and globing it up with sealer? I’d find a different dealer

Totally agree. I have dealt with great Toyota dealers and some really slimy ones. It sounds like @Tracy is going to one of the bad ones to me. If there are any other Toyota dealers in your area I would recommend going to one of them. This dealer put sealant on an expensive, new truck and called it a day?

My truck will be built in Guanajuato (3TY) so I will need to be watching for this too. It would be super helpful to know the build months of the trucks. That should be on the label inside the driver's door. That would help us see how likely it is that Toyota is on top of this or is still building trucks with this problem.

Good luck.

Well mine was built in March/2024 3ty guantjuano and mines the base model a/c system. I don’t have dual zone climate control or automatic climate control. I haven’t noticed any water drips and I run the a/c every day. Seems all the posts about the cracked evap box are trucks with the automatic climate control. I know the entire hvac must be different for dual zone and auto models opposed to the Manuel base a/c system.

I have the issue and my VIN is 3TY also assembled in March. DO NOT TRUST THE DEALERS. They Cant get the part or reinstall the part because if they do the mounting cross member will break the new unit. I bought my truck in May, and dropped it off June 15th and its still there, no part because its still on "backorder". The engineers at the MANUFACTURER arent being proactive to come up with a solution for the ones down in the field(BECUASE OF CRASH BAR ASSEMBLY PROCESS on the manufacturing line). the owner of the dealership for the second time claims he will get me a replacement truck. I have rags stuffed inside under the dash to catch the water until the lemon lawyer get me a full payout or i get a new truck. Im not paying and have a rental RAV4.I have posession of the truck im paying for. They have told me originally June 26th for the part, then july 1st, then july 15th, then july 22, then july 29th??? Im over it. Dealer says he has no control over parts and you cant get any information out of the BRAND ENGAGEMENT PEOPLE. I WORK FOR TOYOTA, i can only imagine what the dealerships are doing to other customers. that slop job shoud be posted all over the internet especially sent to the brand engagement people becuase they pay top doller for repair work from manufacturer to dealership. this whole thing has me beyond pissed off.

My truck is a 3TY built 03 24 single zone ac. Had it since Apr 18th. No indication of leak yet. But haven't been driving it for long periods of time with the ac on.

Can you elaborate on the crash bar? Why wouldn’t the dealer techs be able to fix it? Sounds like they already are. Yours was dripping water all over the floor liner?

How did you notice the leak on day 1? Instantly was dripping water on your feet?
Yes, on the way home we wear flip flops in florida, I'm guessing most people have no idea because they have shoes on.

I’d think we would notice water all over the floor liner then or on our shoes. Haven’t seen any water
