My trailhunter pushed back until December.

Does anyone know how detailed the status is on trucks which appear in the inventory search? My TRD Pro was built on 7/27 and it has shown as "Vehicle is in build phase" since then. Will that eventually show any transportation status info? Did any Trailhunter in a QC hold show that in the...

Trailhunter QC Holds — multiple regions

Yep - we are members of the Taco hurry up and wait club. :) I am lucky to have a Tundra that looks and drives like new, so I don't have your lease situation. I am starting to wonder if I should go ahead and do the overdue coolant flush just to be on the safe side. I was hoping to avoid more...

Trailhunter QC Holds — multiple regions

My Pro has been listed as "in build phase" for a couple of weeks now. My dealer said it was awaiting transportation, but I have no idea what that means. I asked when I should bring in my Tundra for a trade in evaluation and they said, no hurry. When we have some clue about your truck we will let...

2024 Tacoma TRD Pro Full Transmission Replacement After 342 Miles

I have seen transmission failures from both plants, 3TY and 3TM. All of the transmissions are made by Aisin at their plants, so I don't think the final assembly location has any impact on this. Aisin has plants in Texas and in North Carolina, but I think truck transmissions all come from the...

Photos from a Tacoma overland trip in Colorado (Black Bear, Engineer, Imogene, Old Monarch Pass, Gunnison, etc...)

Wow - Love the build and those are great pictures - thanks! Looks like a fun trip and the Taco looks right at home in the mountains. I sure wish I had mine!

6MT OR Does Eastern Slope of the Rockies

Yeah - that is nuts. It might not even be Toyota doing that. Different distribution regions in the US get different choices of options. When I bought my 2nd gen I wanted traction control and Toyota offered it, but I could not get it in Ohio.

    Rough transmission shifts

Hard to imagine that a massive thud is good news. Looking forward to hearing how this turns out. Good luck!

6MT OR Does Eastern Slope of the Rockies

Very cool and thanks for sharing. I like hearing that it is very capable right out of the box and then it will only get better as you build it out a bit. Loved seeing the pictures of a 4th gen out where it belongs and doing what it was made for.

@Sner Yeah - I lose stuff in long threads all the time.

2024 Tacoma TRD Pro Full Transmission Replacement After 342 Miles

@AZ-Jayhawk posted a link to that article yesterday (post #92).

    Ron's 2024 Tacoma Limited Hybrid

Big improvement. My Tundra is a Limited and I hated the plastic chrome mirror caps, which looked and felt cheap to me. It took me forever but I eventually found OEM caps painted to match my truck.

    Rough transmission shifts

I agree - you should not have to drive any vehicle just to make it work properly. I have written embedded code to control some very complex machinery. The learning thing is just to optimize performance, which should basically work properly from the start. The software can "learn" details about...

    Rough transmission shifts

Good job and please post when you find information about this. This problem coming right on the heels of the huge Tundra engine recall is really shining a spotlight on Toyota and its rep for quality products. They can save themselves if they treat us all right, like they are doing with the new...

Odd whistle after turning engine off

I don't have my Taco yet, but you should hear the strange sounds my wife's electric makes after it is turned off. Yes, it is off but all kinds of stuff is still going on in there!

Hard Tonneau Cover with Power Tailgate?

I am planning on getting a Truxedo Sentry hard roll-up tonneau. If it fits properly then it shouldn't cause problems with the tailgate. I am hoping for more reviews of it on a 2024 before I buy mine, because it is crazy expensive.

    Rough transmission shifts

We are all wondering what is causing this, but trust me, Toyota is even more interested than we are. That is one of the things I like about Toyota. Not that they never make mistakes, but when they do, they dig until they find the cause of things like this and then move forward with a fix. My...

How about a 2x4 Pro in an access cab?

2024 Tacoma TRD Pro Full Transmission Replacement After 342 Miles

I am a hard core Toyota guy and I have thought about 4th gen reliability, particularly of the transmission. If I am worried Toyota should be too. :) But no way can I not get the Pro I worked so hard for, even if there are a few issues here and there. It is still my number one pick for a truck...

Going from full size to 2024 Tacoma?

My Tundra is a great truck and just what you want when there is heavy work to do. I traded my 2nd gen Taco for a Tundra because of heavy hauling and towing I did at that time. It has been flawless, comfortable and capable for 13 years. Now I don't need the gas cost, or trying to shove it into...
