Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has found an aftermarket solution to keep the cameras on after you pass 10 MPH. I'm not looking to have it on all the time as I see how that could be distracting, but I would like to bump that to maybe 15 MPH. Anyone have any good solutions?

I was gonna contact Carista and ask them to include that in their app. Maybe if we all contacted them they would jump on it for us.
I know there were something for the Ford Rangers and other mods/hacks/whatever they're called.
Here's a link or two maybe they'll get something going for the Tacoma.

This one only has it for the Sienna. I don't know if it would work on the Tacoma but this is the kind of thing we're looking for....

This one called can opener has it for Ford but nothing for the Tacoma except for the auto stop start eliminator.
For the Ranger the trick was just use a jumper between two certain wires which is probably all they do with this little short harness that plugs in between the switch and OEM harness so you don't always have to push that damn button....

Hoping somebody can point us in the right direction because I think about it every day.
It comes on for about five seconds while driving if you push the button which shows the bed and right behind the truck.
That's the only reason I want to to bypass it, to see behind me and then also the 360° view at the same time on the right hand side of the screen.
There is another one for Ford called Forscan which which is a program you run so you can do different programming. I know someone can have something made for Toyota.

I would like to take it a step further and have it set up to record like a dash board camera. We've got the cameras all we need is a recorder and the interface. I think it would be a money maker for the manufacturer.

I'm sure Toyota limited it to 10 MPH for safety. The Carista app only unlocks features that can be changed by a dealer's Techstream device. It can't change the software.

Two bits say that Toyota's legal department had input into the limit, and it's not adjustable.

Yeah, I'm assuming it's for safety as well. I'd be happy with moving it up to 12-15. That doesn't seem unreasonable. 10 just flips it off too fast in my opinion. I doubt it'll get updated as well, but it'd be nice if we could find a good solution.

That'd be cool. I'm a software developer so I'm pretty sure it could be done in the software. As @Sagebrush said, I'm thinking some of the restrictions come from legal vs actual technological capability.
