Beautiful truck and the OR has nothing to be ashamed of, it is a great truck. It is the basis for the Pro and TH and lets you take it to whatever level you want.
The PRO was very tempting in the 3rd and 4th gen levels. I told my honey I was going to buy the all black PRO, but my local dealer had a
OR coming in like I also liked. It ended up being timing and price.

I might be a buyer this gen. We’ll see. If they come out with one in Inferno paint, I will commit.

Here's how much I care:

.

I'm loving the heck out of mine. Power, performance, utility and looks. It's got everything *I* want.

And I like the new 4Runner too, it looks mint.

I was looking hard at the OR Hybrid Premium. There just weren't many on lots and dealers weren't budging on price of that model. They had non hybrid or non premium OR and were dropping 4-7k but that OR Hybrid Premium trim just wasn't there. That's why I started looking at the TH and Pro.

My truck is 13 months old and I have not met/talked with anyone who does not like my truck. I have had no issues with anything except a nail in the tire this week (Of course it is in the sidewall need replacement of the tire). About to break 10k miles and had it serviced a few weeks ago. The only one spreading hate etc and comments on you tube videos where the you tubers do it for views. I predicted in Feb 2024 that the Tacoma would lead sales in the mid size truck segment and not only did it lead, it sold more than double of any of it competitors. The people have spoken with their money.

One complain is only getting a year of remote service. Then trying to charge $15 a month. Not happening with me, sorry Toyots.

You having a good experience makes no sense. Your actual real life experience carries no weight. All the internet people swore this truck would be bad. Remember that the internet people who speak with confidence about how Toyota lost its way and how turbos are dogshit have to be right. They have so many YouTube followers and they all drive hardcore second gens that go 1,000,000 miles without any oil changes.

After 6000km in a 2024 Off Road Premium I understand the hate. Too much emphasis on wow and not enough on reliability. Too many design and manufacturing flaws. Initial transmission problems. Brake line problems (stop sell order yesterday on 100,000 + units). Shock top hats made from pot metal that expode in potholes - lots of these on 4g and tacomaworld (hopefully the next recall, as my truck has been broken for 3 weeks awaiting parts with no date given yet). Tiny fuel tank that hasn't yet made it 400km on a tank. Glitchy entertainment system. (My driver door also went in for repair after 2 bolts fell out after 4000km.) Poor part availability when broken.

The truck should be amazing. We all love how it drives when it works. It just wasn't ready for prime time when it was released. Not what I expected from my first Toyota. There are many great things about the truck but for the price tag on these trucks some of the hating can be justified.
10k miles in a January 2024 build and none of those issues. At my 10k service they replaced the wiring harness for the active shutter although I never had an issue (apparently the connector was not the right size and allowed water in causing issues we have heard about). 400km is 250 miles? What kind of driving are your doing? I can eaily get 350 miles on a tank although that is using the reserve tank.

Yeah I don’t have any real problems. Minor things.

It's just not really worth browsing tacomaworld. Mods are worse than some of the members because they encourage the trolls by selective rule enforcement.
I was on there for a week after getting my truck and never went back. Who wants to hear negativity from people that didn't even have the truck? Good Riddance!

But didn’t you read that four cylinder turbos are bad bad bad? They will never last longer than 20,000 miles.
This is my first Toyota truck. My wife has a 24 RAV4 hybrid. It's her second one. She loves it. I went from a Silverado to this Hybrid Tacoma. I don't care what people say, I love this truck. Happy I bought it.
