Have you tried turning it off yet? I turned my fake engine noise off, thinking I might like driving my truck better without it. It did lower the sound level a little, but the sound was pretty nasty without any enhancement. Kind of rough and gutless IMO.

In the Tundra they add the sound to make the V6 sound more like the old V8. In the Taco they added sound to make the I4 sound like a V6. After one day of driving it without the enhanced sound I turned it back on and left it there.
I’m driving it in off right now. The TRD muffler back pipe improves the exhaust tone slightly. But yes it is not a nice sounding engine without the lower tones.

Although the wife votes to leave it off, I’ll probably end up turning it back on as well.

That is it exactly - the enhanced, throaty, lower tones of a larger engine make all the difference, at least to me.

I also agree that it would be cool to have an easier way to change it. Maybe off in Normal and Eco, and on in Sport?

That would be cool. That’s how my C7 Corvettes worked.
