Yeah, I get that I'd be saving $8k (that's the markup at my dealer if you have a down payment AND a deposit) but it's not just the money. I can't really afford to take time off of work at the drop of a hat, even just a day or two and even if it's not at the drop of a hat, and I would have to find a caretaker for my animals which isn't the easiest thing to do with where I live. I was willing to consider the markup when it was estimated that the TH was gonna come in at about $50k as the final price would have been close to what I was willing to spend. The fact you are justifying 8k-10k markup because you claim you dont have time to save 8k-10k is exactly why we are in this position to begin with.
There are resources like markups.org. There is the literal dealer megathread here.
8k-10k really isnt worth picking up the phone or sending a few emails? Come on, man.
At this point, I'm just gonna hold off. Maybe look around and see what other options there are, maybe just wait and see if prices come down. I'm just thankful that we haven't gotten a ton of snow already this winter, since that's the biggest reason I'm looking to buy a new truck - my 99 Ranger has been good to me, but she's getting old and isn't quite as nimble and spry as she used to be.
