What’s it say?
Contact your Dealer first. I don't care for my dealer's service department. I am a 40 year ASE Master and unfortunately they are clueless. Need to get the regional rep involved I guess. I just don't have the time right now.

In a collision repair tech for 15 years and I’m well versed mechanics of automobiles and clearly something isn’t right with these transmissions.

I agree. No properly functioning transmission should ever make a sound like high centering on a rock when shifting into reverse.

Yup, I’m glad to see more people speaking up and voicing their frustration

I'm really of no help to you as I have a manual but I do want to add in that every 8-speed transmission I've ever owned was extremely unpredictable. Will it drop 4 gears or will it drop 2? Who knows! 😂 Hard shifts every so often, power not on demand at times.

I hated my camry's 8-speed, first gear was always too short and shift times sucked

I hate 8-speeds with a burning passion.

I'm honestly kind of relieved to hear it, as annoying as mine can be at times. This is my first vehicle to have more than 6 gears and it's been difficult to determine if it's just the nature of the 8AT to behave like this or if mine has potential issues. It sounds like mine is acting "normal" haha

Mine started very smooth. There was an occasional hard shift first thing on cool mornings but almost every modern auto I've driven seems that way so no issues. I'm at 5700 miles now and I believe my transmission is starting to fail.

I originally got around 20mpg city and always got at least 24hwy @ 75mph. Multiple trips to my mom's in Daytona verified that. Now I get about 18 city and 15hwy. At 73mph the RPMs occasionally surge and I'm ALWAYS in boost. (Usually around 5psi according to the gauge)

Sometimes in the city, when I'm stopped at a light or stop sign, when I hit the gas to go, the RPMs climb, the boost kicks in, but the truck responds like it's in-between gears or something.

I'm a very early build and I fall easily into the TSB range. The dealer doesn't care because there's no codes and "everything's normal." I guess we'll see. I'm already looking at getting rid of mine. It's a nice truck but getting worse mileage than my F-150 on the hwy is a deal breaker for me.
