Working on my 2024 OR today. Wind blew the hood open and hit windshield. 250 miles on it…Thank god the wind shield did not break.

You height say I did not set the rod properly. That was my first thought. But I was able to repeat it. Just push up on the hood. One out of every 5 times it pops right off.

someone’s gonna get hurt on a windy day.

No damage thank god. Blew me away that nothing got damaged. I jammed the pliers handle into the hole and tie wrapped it to the pole.

Damn! Unbelievable there was no damage! I’m fortunate that I have a big garage!

Thanks for the heads up on this. Glad your truck is okay.

A few years ago I was changing a headlight on my wife's Volvo wagon. I had to run to the dealer for a part and left the hood just resting closed with my tools and parts on the engine. Wife came home with another car and took the Volvo. The hood flew open on the road, cracked the windshield and torqued the hood, thousands of dollars in damage. Two lessons learned, never leave the hood not completely latched and use caution when asking wife WTF, didn't you see the hood was not closed......

Wife bought my 24 TRD

That means the Redline hood struts were a safety feature that was needed to save my life. Now I can get a $100 back to spend on something else that is a necessity.
