where did you find those? Our tacoma does not have comfort and sport+
The Limited does... I don't know about the others. Comfort softens the suspension with AVS, the Limited is the only model that has AVS.

Thanks, all, but AI did all the work. I took Justin's explanation of the modes and told it to make sense of it in regard to the Limited. It's enough that I'm giving it serious consideration. I had a tune in my Tundra, and it was money well spent. I had a TRD Off-Road and basically turned it into a TRD Sport—front and rear TRD sway bars, some mild suspension work, brakes, exhaust, and some intake work; nothing too crazy. The sway bars really worked well and allowed me to throw three tons of truck into some curves it had no business being in. But I digress; I love the stock performance of the hybrid, and if I can get some more out of it for a reasonable price, I'm in. Now, if someone can tune an exhaust to sound like a V8, my life would be complete.

@JustDSM have you been able to analyze a Limited Hybrid yet? Concerned it's a different beast on it's own right - because it not only layers in the AVS system and hybrid system, but also FT-4WD.

To other posts: I believe sport+ you have to have a hybrid. And I know that comfort requires AVS to be present.

I don’t have the hybrid and my Limited has the Sport + mode.
I have one question for @JustDSM :
Will the dealer know that I’ve done this tune if I go in for an oil change? If not, will they ever know? I just don’t want them to have any excuse to void my warranty if you know what I mean.

Thanks for that. I have an authorized dealer 25 miles from me.
It's a DIY application?
$650 for the engine and transmission.

I think the only other question is, is there a noticeable difference, if any at all in performance running 93 octane as opposed to 87 octane?
The price for the calibration applied through our retail network has a $650 MSRP as you quoted, this includes the full engine/tcu calibration.

Just like the OEM calibration, we've retained the ability of the OE Toyota Strategy to compensate for a diverse range of fuel quality. You will get the most out of the tune running premium fuel. There will be a slight decrease in output when running lower octane Regular fuel, but we've specifically calibrated the file to allow it to run safely on 87. It's not going to "knock your socks off" if you suddenly switch to Premium; it takes a bit of time to adapt, but you'll notice the engine will run a bit quieter and smoother as soon as the Premium fuel cycles through the fuel system.

We fully support the Hybrids, including the Limited Trim. Calibration wise (what we are changing) is independent of the AWD specific controls. The primary ECU and TCU calibrations have differences, but the mapping used is shared across all platforms.

The "extra" drive modes on the Limited trims utilize the settings from the root drive mode. Sport+ for example, will utilize the standard Sport settings but alter other systems such as the electronic steering, shock absorbers, etc.

I don’t have the hybrid and my Limited has the Sport + mode.

The dealer will not be "flagged" or anything like that. Nothing will appear "out of place" to a technician or service advisor scanning the truck to admit it into service. We've ensured this is the case before release and is the same for all of the Toyota platforms we support (2003-2025+). We do not lock down the diagnostic protocols of the ECU so service techs can connect and utilize diagnostic tools or update the vehicle should critical updates be required.

But back to your question. As stated, the vehicle will appear to be stock. We've posted this elsewhere, but with over 1000 flashes on our development vehicle, this is what a service department sees when the vehicle is brought in for service.

Reprogramming History: Showing no updates despite over 1000 individual flashes for development purposes.

Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate that. That’s good to know. Just to be clear, a tech at the dealer just doing routine maintenance can’t see any reprograms or flashes but I’m sure there are ways they can find out it’s been tuned but they have to dig deeper…right? I purchased an extended warranty and I just don’t want to give them any ammo to void it. I probably will never need to use it but who knows? I’m not looking to tune it to be a race truck or hot rod, I just want to let it do what it’s capable of. I’m not a young buck anymore, I just want the finer things in life and this tune seems to me one of the finer things I want. That’s why I bought a Limited. 🤭
