Canā€™t see them staying in place. Car wash would likely rip them out. Iā€™m also in the camp, can see rust forming around them over time, salt sand, moisture trapped in them.

What mods or even simple adds we do or donā€™t do to these trucks is up to the owner. However in defense of the manufacturer here, these caps are well made and snap into place leaving nothing to catch in a car wash. I have been through a car wash four or five times so far with no issues. Also feel under the jack point, there are drain/vent holes to keep things dry even with the caps on. That said I will pull them every once in a while and spray some WD40 in there. In my opinion they look good and add a finished look to the bumper, but hey they may not be for everyone.

Iā€™m still trying to figure out why a mouse would want to enter that space and if so, how would they damage the truck?

as someone who has had rodent damage done to my wife's Highlander . we had a fig tree & the damn things were stuffing downed fruit into various voids in the car. They were using the voids to eat figs in private away from local kitties . So just because you can't for see a problem doesn't mean it's not there. šŸ˜

I'll speak up in defence of these. They're nicely molded rubber and aren't going to fall out on their own. I would freely admit they're only for aesthetic purposes but the open frame in the back has been one of my visual points of irritation ever since getting the truck. The plugs clean the rear up quite a bit.

That said, the branding was never going to work for me. 30 seconds with a belt sander made all the difference~!
