here's what I find interesting about these 'legal' terminologies. It says that your vehicle "MAY" be classified as a lemon.
Yeah - I noticed that too. What the hell does may mean here? Probably another way to help out businesses and screw consumers.

@Forest Moon Wow - four days! I thought these trucks bit the dust every other day at best. :)

Well this is shit luck. Bought a brand new 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport Premium on August 1st.
Took it back to the dealer after 7 days since the fuel door wouldn't close; told that parts weren't available with no ETA for parts
Returned again to service on August 17th after fuel sensor stopped working and was unable to fill gas in to the car since the siphon was closed. Was told entire fuel door, fuel sensor and siphon mechanism failed and needed replacement.
Car has 310 miles on it.
No ETA on parts.
Contacted Toyota Brand Engagement to see if they could source parts for a brand new Tacoma that is currently being produced. Again told no ETA.
Just reached to a 3rd party arbitrator to see if I could get my money back or they can get me a brand new truck.
This is bullshit.
My first and last Toyota. Disappointed with both dealer and corporate response.
What brand are you buying next? Ford, GM, Jeep, Nissan, Kia/Hyundai, Tesla, Honda or Rivian?

whatever brand is next, avoid a new gen or we'll all be in this convo again, just on another forum.

Not sure what will be my next brand.
I get that some products come out defective - however just as important as the fix, is the corporate response.
Not sure what purpose Toyota Brand Engagement serves if it fails to help the customer
Is it my fault for buying first-generation product, or Toyota's for inadequately servicing the customer base
Obviously these are just my opinions
I'm hopeful for a quick resolution but not confident it will happen

If someone figured out how to fill your gas tank is it still driveable? Does this problem throw a CEL? I don’t know how a modern filler neck works exactly. But if it was me I’d be trying to bypass this issue while the part comes in.

while it sucks, it’s a machine. truck (see what at I did there… truck not a car) still runs. Toyotas response seems pretty reasonable to me. I’m sure they have some bigger customer issues than your fuel door and fuel sender light on. Maybe an engine or a transmission issue. See Toyota corporate is trained on how to deal with complaints from spoiled brats, in fact the industry knows how to deal with complaints from spoiled brats who think they are better than the next customer. You have a problem, yes it sucks and is disappointing. But it will get taken care of. Go ahead and buy something else next time, possibility is there It will have issues too, and guarantee corporate response would be worse than what Toyota’s Response is. Recheck your expectations. You sound like a whiny customer who usually buys from luxury brands like Porsche or BMW.

Him not being able to put gas in the truck puts him in the same boat as those with a blown transmission, the truck isn't drivable & no ETA on parts. People sometimes come to forums not only to share their experience but to vent, nothing wrong with that. Manufacturers shouldn't keep getting a pass from people using the phrase "it's a vehicle, shit happens." I don't think his truck is a lemon but I do think issues like this on something brand new are inexcusable and the manufacturer should bend over backwards to make it right if they want to keep their customers and not look like they are owned by general motors.

Family members AC went out in their Honda 10k miles and 1 year outside of warranty a few weeks back. I didn't think that was acceptable for it's age and called American Honda on their behalf. Honda agreed with me & paid 75% of the bill. That's how you keep a customer.
