After having patiently waited (as many here have), I am very happy to now have my first Tacoma---- feel fortunate that at least Toyota still offers the option for the 2-dr. cab / 6-ft. bed configuration. Also, thanks very much to everyone for all the information provided here---- your posts were extremely helpful while going through the research/learning phase of the process.

I wish the Off Road was offered in an extended cab 6ā€™ as was my Gen 2ā€™s. The additional 18ā€ of wheelbase on my Gen 4 makes navigating in tight on and off road spaces feel bus like. There are some advantages to the 4 door but Iā€™ll go back to an extended cab when and if they become available.

Nice looking rig!

Man, Iā€™m really thinking about the PreRunner, let me know how it is day to day from a storage standpoint accessing behind the front seats.

If it was available as a manual Iā€™d definitely be all over it. I like the 6ā€™ bed and probably could use the LSD to get out of anything I need to get out of.

Thanks to all of you for the welcome. Toyota doesn't seem to make many xtracabs, but the fact they didn't discontinue altogether is lucky for those of us still interested (will be curious if the '25 models increase, decrease, or stay pretty much the same re production #s).

Production will increase Because have been ramping up production throughout the year And will be at full capacity in year 2. If the extra cab models sell well, theyā€™ll continue to produce them in proportion to sales of other models on a trailing per quarter basis. I think the extra cab prerunner is the perfect pickup for most young people or people without a bunch of kids.

Nice truck. When I started looking, it was between what I got and the SR5 too. Since I really wanted a 2-dr., it made the decision easier for me since many of the features available on SR5 and not PreRunner were only for the DC. Like you, however, feel lucky that I was able to find what ended up being a good fit (6' bed, color, upgrade pkg., etc.) w msrp < $41k.

It also helped that I had a good dealership to work with---- they were able to find and get an allocation for me that was a pretty hard to find combination. If it helps anyone out, I dealt w/ Brett and Steven at Toyota Carlsbad (N SD county). They were extremely helpful and made the transaction a very pleasant experience. My understanding is that many out of area buyers go there and based on my experience, it's not surprising.

What options, color did you get?

They're not upgraded wheels---- just the stock wheel tire combo from the factory. 265/70/17
