Was wondering what dealer you purchased this from? When I search the 'net' for OEM and find items, seems like they are all backordered and can be days or months when I talk to the parts guys. Little reluctant to order and pay for this now if I don't receive for "months'". I am also looking at Bakflip , pricing is $1109 shipped. Bakflip has a 5 year warranty, if same as Toyota branded OEM version this only has 1 year warranty from my research. Thanks, Brian
i order the MX4 Bakflip. Took awhile but finally arrived. Been a nightmare, it looks great but latches donā€™t work and itā€™s so tight at tailgate that it malfunctions and powergate stops working. There is a screw right under the latch which is a problem too. Donā€™t buy it.

I bought the MX4, does not fit correctly on 2024. Trying to get a refund now.
Sorry to hear that. My local truck dealer talked me into the Undercover Ultra Flex. We will see how it works out. If not I will be going OEM.

I would think the taper in the tube might be more prone to getting clogged up?

jmarion713 Thanks for the pics - very helpful.

Like bsquaredMTB said, it looks like the drain tube reducer at the rail allows for a 1/4 inch OD tube so the tube can go in the stock 1/4 inch drain holes in the bed.

The MX4 tubes are 5/8" in diameter which is why they say to drill out the drain holes wider. Even if I did that for the existing drain holes, the tubes aren't long enough.

I'm going to get some 1/4 inch tubing and find a similar reducer I can use but otherwise follow the OEM approach.

ridetime - I have the same concern that a smaller diameter tube might get clogged more easily. It's a personal preference, but I'd rather not drill out the drain holes and try the OEM approach instead. If the tubes get clogged, maybe I'll go back to a wider tube.

Full disclosure: I don't live in an area with frequent heavy downpours so tube clogging is not a major concern for me.

Hey are you able to get a pic of what the rail looks like in this area?

OEM cover rail with the drop sits right at the top of the flip up for the outlet. Still opens and can be used.

I just checked my MX4 and it also has those indents due to the screws. That indent is in a rubber seal though. How do you have your cover positioned at the front? I donā€™t have power tailgate but it sure doesnā€™t seem hard to close.

I have the front ā€œflapā€ seal flush with the front edge of the bed.

Anyone that bought the MX4 have some advise on set up plz.... I'm having trouble with the rails how did you guys get them straight? Here's a couple pics of what I have going on so far.... Plus the instructions say "alternate mounting locations" what the heck does that mean... Shouldn't there be only one way to install šŸ˜€

Do I have the clamps on wrong? It's also causing my bed to pull up a little(more that it already was)

looks like you donā€™t have the bracket hooked into the track correctly. That screw should also pass through the hole in the back of the bracket and yours seems to be hitting. Iā€™ve also attached a pic of mine for reference.

Well just discovered another downside to the new MX4 šŸ˜•

They redesigned the seal and added a drain track at the folds. This track is now totally open to drain water that comes through. There must be a very poor gasket (if any) between the aluminum frame and the panels - we had a light rain a when I opened the cover, the new drain tracks pour water on the contents of the bed. I screen captured someoneā€™s pic of the OEM/old style MX4 that didnā€™t have this issue.

The new seam seal does look less prone to failing at the folds but it results in a new problem that I really donā€™t like. I had planned to just suck it up and keep this cover with the OEM cover on back order but this may have just sunk the nail in the coffin.
