Hey all sorry for the delay! Well the deal was legit, Vehicle was $47,206 but we couldn't agree on my trade (2012 Subaru STi). So why not get the truck anyway? I don't want 3 vehicles and to insure 3 vehicles, and I don't want a 1k monthly payment.
So, I'll still get the truck just going to wait and save up and let the market settle while I wait.

You guys are greatly appreciated!

I be interested in how the trade negotiation played out. Why not get that number before before the process starts?

Thats standard operating procedure for a dealership to give you a seemingly incredible deal and then neutralize it with a low-ball trade offer. What seems to good to be true usually is. Why not sell the older vehicle on CL or FB and just buy the truck at 47K?

Very apprehensive to have people want to test drive a Stage 4 STi. I'm not closed off to the idea just makes me cringe some rando clutch dumping my car then saying thanks no thanks.

As for what happened with the negotiations they didn't know I had a trade so I did blind side them with it. I didn't want them to know I had a trade and then they can move the numbers around to make it look like a great deal on the trade all while not moving on the truck numbers. Establish the out the door price first then move to the next step.
My STi is worth private about 20k and I wouldn't go below 17.5k trade. They were offering 12k.

All that said this isn't my first of second choice on the color so, in their words "lowered the price to make you color blind". Which I will say our sales lady and assistant were regular people, very transparent and legit amazing. It doesn't hurt me too much as Underground is just fine, I wouldn't be mad for a good price committing but the deal falling apart and waiting for a color I actually prefer will work out in the end.

I firmly believe with the feds not cutting rates, inflation and stagnation, Toyota not getting their allotments in a timely manner and now ramping up will cause trucks to sit. All of this will make for a better consumer experience 3-6 months from now.

Until then I'll see if I can get any bites on the Suby and just save towards a larger down payment to mitigate the oooooooooof payment.
Side note, my insurance going from the STi to the TRD Sport would drop 10 bucks but if I keep all the vehicles, truck, STi and Outback then it would go up 103 monthly.

If you have a Car Max near you try that route. I was offered $29,400 and the dealer offered 26K. Sold the car to Car Max and used the money towards the Tacoma

I actually did go there Saturday and they offered me 13k which is really low. The guy was pretty honest and said your car is a specialty vehicle and we really sell the Altimas, minivans things like that. People that come in are looking for those types of vehicles which they turn quickly and a STi isn't normally their thing.
So, we're just going to keep the STi.

I did see the Tacoma is still sitting on the lot, 28 days in so I sent a follow up email saying make a better deal and I'll be there check in hand to take it from you.

Same laws in NV, trades lower total taxes. Sales tax here though is 8.35% >.<

Carvana has offered me 20-22k for my trade vs 17k CarMax and like 14k from a dealer haha.

Carvana was 1k less than Carmax for me. Majority of Americans are hunkering down and IF are spending money are going practical and performance vehicles aren't selling. People want sedans and minivans. Just not a good market to sell a car like an STi.
