I just bought my new 2025 TRD Off Road a week ago and I love the truck except for 2 things: the gas mileage and the multimedia system. Trying to program the radio channels in the order I prefer is driving me nuts! The only way I have found to store the channels is to make them a "favorite", move to the next one and repeat. The problem with this, to me, is that the newest channel selected goes to the top of the stack instead of below the previous stored one, which is what I would logically think should happen. Does anybody have a solution to this problem other than start storing the desired channel at the bottom of my stack and work my way up to the top In the reverse order I want them?

I have a couple of thoughts for Toyota at this point. 1) I don't think they consult with "normal" people on the ease of operation on the things they design and 2) I'd like to wring the software engineer(s) neck who designed the radio. He or she, truly must have hated humans. It would have been nice if they had made the channel icons movable like the icons are on iPhone and Android devices, allowing them to be put in the desired order

My 2020 SR5 radio was much easier to program. Thanks in advance for any advice on how to make programming this beast easier.

Congrats on your new pickup and we all totally agree with you that Toyota’s infotainment system makes everything more difficult than it needs to be. Just try to find and reset your mpg stats or view your tire air pressure.

I use CarPlay and it’s similarly exhausting to close CarPlay, switch to toyota’s sytem, then audio, and finally touch an existing preset.

So try using voice as much as you can. Tacoma has more physical buttons than most these days, but I think we would all appreciate a couple of physical customizable radio station buttons.

Following on to Sner, you need to be stopped and in Park. Hit the music icon on the left side, then Favorites, then hit the channel you are listening to so all your favorites are on the left and the station playing is on the right. You can then hit edit and drag channels to any order.

I tried that, and the edit does nothing on my radio. I can't change anything. Hmmm

I tried that, and the edit does nothing to move the channels around on my radio. I can't change anything. Hmmm. I notice that Sner and yourself have 2024 Tacos, mine is a 2025, and I'm thinking something changed in software in these units. I do appreciate y'all's replies.

Did you try holding your finger on the three lines for a few seconds and then keeping your finger in contact with the screen, slide the channel up or down.

I didn't try that. I tried holding my finger on the channel for a few seconds and then tried moving it. I'll try that in the morning. Thanks for the suggestion.

That worked perfectly! Thank you very much for researching and posting the video for me! The manual is so lacking in detailed explanations for everything. I'm really happy I found this forum.

Happy to help, I went through the same thing and stumbled onto it waiting for my wife outside the grocery store.

LOL! I did get all my stations programmed in and deleted the pre-stored stations from San Diego. I thought that was odd bc I bought my Taco in Mobile, AL. Then I looked at the sticker and saw it was assembled in Baja, CA, Mexico. LOL! Then it made sense. Now to set up the multi-info display like I want it...
