My truck is a 2024 Pro and I turned that crap off and it has remained off. I actually thought something was wrong with my truck's steering when I first got it. I sounds like they might have changed that for 2025 and that would be a deal breaker for me. Fingers crossed that never changes on my truck.

I wonder if you can permanently disable that with a tool like a Carista. If not I would be in my dealer's face to fix that.

On the other hand my TPMS remains on dash cluster.

Two days with a TRD Pro and I already want to drive it off a cliff...

Its cumbersome and complicated and I am a young tech guy...

So there are two separate steering assist systems to keep you in your lane, one for Cruise Control which can be disabled with the push of a button on the steering wheel and the other called LDA (Lane departure assist) Which does the same thing only "subtler"

I disabled LDA which in turn gives me a yellow warning icon on the dash, thing is, whenever I start the truck it defaults to on and have to fight it all the way to my destination...

WTF Toyota??

This is irritating and unsafe, I dont like my steering wheel having a mind of its own like should everyone else.

Is there a way to disable it permanently?

Thanks
JC
The technology is not always intuitive and is annoying. I'm with you, I used to deal with satellite uplinks and microwave transmissions, I'm not a luddite. Sometimes it's the "there's no way this is the way they designed it, there has t be another way" frame of mind that drives you nuts. Eventually you realize, no, thats how it is. No idea why, but thats how it is, lol.

I know what you mean... I can't believe Toyota are setting themselves up for a lawsuit that easily!

I have a 2025 Limited and I disabled it the second day of driving it off the lot. It’s still disabled and that’s been two weeks ago. It’s never turned back on for me on or reset to default. No icon on either.

I guess I'm the exception. I like it. As long as you stay centered in your lane and signal lane changes it never kicks in. But I do sometimes drift and it lets me know.

Same here. I usually turn on LTA as well if I've been driving more than an hour or so.

So do we know if this is a change for 2025?

I don't like it personally, so I turned it off during the first week and it has never come back. I don't mind toggling it on and off with the steering wheel button on a long drive, but I would not like having it on all of the time.

Mine has PDA and LDA and whatever else they offer, I have it turned it off, no warning lights on the dash, it’s never turned back on, my tire monitor seems to stay put also

You're in Canada, right? (I saw Km on your display). Maybe this is a Canada thing?

Did you turn off ALL of the PDA functions?

Others seem to have no problem turning everything off on their 2025. Either your truck is different than everyone else, or you're doing something different.

Lane assist and other tech has been on Lexus and other Toyotas models for years. I was used to it since my wife's RX has it but I will admit in this truck it seem a bit more aggressive. But I've gotten used to it.
