I'm looking to get aftermarket skid plates and armor, possibly a front bumper. Does anyone have any particularly good experiences with any of the aftermarket brands like CBI, C4, Victory, RCI, Etc? I've only ever bought sliders from Cali Raised and they really did a phenomenal job. I'm looking to go steel as I don't necessarily do rock crawling, but I do go out to places like Moab and have had some pretty knarly gashes to the steel skid on my 3rd Gen.

I don't know about aftermarket, but the Trailhunter plate is a beast. It's hardened and embossed for strength.

Our front bumper is currently a few weeks away, but skids are ready to go. If you'd like to go with us, shoot me a PM and we can work something up for you.

On the steel vs aluminum. I run aluminum on my personal truck for weight savings. I'll say the protection is real similar, just aluminium skids sometimes sacrifice themselves for the cause, lol. I'll also say, sometimes a hybrid approach works. Steel trans/tcase, aluminum front/mid. I find I'm going to rest the full weight of my rig on the center way more than I'm going to smash the engine skid. But that's a trails and driving style choice for sure.

I have the full body steel skid plates from RCI. At the time of receipt, I wished I had gone with aluminum - they are heavy. However, I found myself in an unexpected situation shortly after and the skid plates took a few good hits...I'm glad I went with steel.
