Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like I should just get the PPF done as well then.
I had mine done with just a couple hundred miles on it, and there were already two fender chips and one on the body color part of the front bumper.

That is a shame to hear given the other protections you have put in place. Is this just on normal roads or from offroading or gravel?

Normal roads unfortunately. I have not had the time to do much off roading and I almost never drive on gravel since I moved to Virginia. The roads are a lot cleaner here than in Ohio where I lived for years, but the chips are still a problem with aggressive tires no matter what.

I put on some 11mm PPF - Suntek Ultra Defense - works amazingly well so far - just in that one spot

I plan on getting this installed on the truck I was quoted $3500 for the entire truck

Wow. The whole truck? That’s usually a 7K job. Just make sure it’s a good installer. If it is, jump on that.

Hi, i too have experienced rock chips.. first one at 500 miles. I washed it today, and found more chips(driver side). So i went to look at the passenger side.. not a single chip. So i immediately started feeling the body line between the bed and cab. Passeger side cab/body sticks out further then the bed/fender. On the driver side it is the opposite, the bed/ fender sticks out further than the body, which explains the exposer to more chips. I did check the tail gate gaps i can fit a thumb in the gap on the driver side, on the passenger i cannot fit my thumb. Could it be normal? In my mind (ocd) it doesnt seem like it. Curious if any one else has noticed/ experienced this? 2024 trd off road premium package. Oem skinny flaps.

You are correct! Running boards and only certain wide ones are the only full protection. Rok Blok's are also a must. I now drive gravel roads without a care. Zero rock chips and I run dirt and gravel roads frequently. PPF won't cut it. The rocks will pit and road rash it to the point it will need replacing.

What running boards are those? Would you mind sharing a link where I could get them? I just ordered my limited 24 and will be removing the automatic running boards to replace.
