Hybrid Tacoma TRD Off-Road in Solar Octane

Got my Westcott Designs roof rack last week but was out of town so just got it installed today. Loving how it looks against the solar octane with the other black trim pieces. Starts to cause a little bit of wind noise at >70mph but nothing bothersome. Didn't need to turn the music up or anything.

Took the taco to the woods for the first time this weekend. Had a blast. Pups enjoyed it too!

I plan on a black vinyl wrap to the Roof, Mirrors & A-Pillars on a TRD Off Road - I think it will look great with the Solar Octane!

I just picked up my solar octane off-road last weekend. There were only two in this color in Georgia at the time and they had options I didn’t want, like the $699 ToyoGuard that almost every SET dealership seems to add, and they did not have the premium package, which I did want. I found my truck three hours away in Tennessee. They made the process easy, from putting down a deposit, keeping me updated on the build, to taking delivery. I absolutely love this truck so far.

After waiting this long, I almost decided to wait a little longer and just buy the 2025 model. However, when I heard Toyota was discontinuing solar octane next year, that made my decision. It is by far my favorite color on this truck. It really pops and stands out in the parking lot amongst all the white, black, silver, and grey vehicles. I also like how it takes on more of a reddish look in the shade, but looks bright orange in full sunlight. Many years ago, I owned a 350Z in LeMan’s sunset orange (which I really liked), but this solar octane color, especially on this truck, looks even better. Given that there are so few Tacomas near me in this color (I’ve only ever seen one other solar octane and it was a sport) and this color is being discontinued, it should make my truck more unique.

Anyway, this is my first truck purchase and I hope this new Tacoma will give me many years of enjoyment. It’s definitely a step up from my trade (2014 Subaru CrossTrek).

Folks who have or are getting this color truck, I'm interested in hearing why you chose this color.

My college alma matter colors are Orange & Black, ever since then I can usually be suckered into buying anything orange....also helps that it's my favorite color. Man they did a great job with this color!

My wife saw a Solar Octane Tacoma in the parking lot of the grocery store on a Friday morning. An hour later we put down a deposit on a Solar Octane Tacoma that was enroute to a dealership in TN. On Tuesday morning we were driving it.. I never thought she would fall for a Tacoma, the dealership sold a 4Runner in Solar Octane on Monday or I might be on a different forum..

I could not decide on a color. I saw a solar octane tundra at a car wash and that made my decision easier. I was looking since April. Finally got my hands on one. Somebody backed out on a sale and It came available. Premium package with black softex.

Finally found my PreRunner! Took awhile but I finally located a Prerunner in Solar Octane. Took possesion last night. Awesome truck. So many upgrades from my 2007 PreRunner. Love the truck and love the color.
