Good to know, oddly enough I’m jealous of your situation lol, I wish my piece of crap transmission would just fail…it shifts like a kid learning to drive stick shift.

For sure. I work in a different industry, but I also work in technical repairs. The inconsistent problems are the bane of my existence. We want things to fully break or fully work.

Oh wow, that's not good at all. Of us that are within the TSB range, it seemed that the faiures were usually below 5000 miles. Also....I thought the Hybrids were built mid 2024 and after the TSB range trucks?

For sure. I work in a different industry, but I also work in technical repairs. The inconsistent problems are the bane of my existence. We want things to fully break or fully work.
Toyota has royally fucked up with these new tnga Platform trucks, between tacoma and tundra is becoming a disaster. It all comes down to lack of quality control

Yup… I’ve heard of a few others failing over 10k miles. It’s just pathetic and disappointing

My truck was built in May. I have been driving 3000+ miles a month, so I probably have more miles on my truck than most other hybrids out there. But yeah, I thought I was in the clear at this point.

Well the good news is they were able to look at it tonight. The bad news is the results were inconclusive. The error codes didn’t indicate a definite problem and after they cleared the codes and test drove it they had no issues.

Honestly I NEED the truck badly for the next few days. Visiting a few different sites in the mountains during a bomb cyclone! Don’t want to try making it around in a rented Elantra. Just hope this problem doesn’t get worse until I get home.

Well the good news is they were able to look at it tonight. The bad news is the results were inconclusive. The error codes didn’t indicate a definite problem and after they cleared the codes and test drove it they had no issues.

Honestly I NEED the truck badly for the next few days. Visiting a few different sites in the mountains during a bomb cyclone! Don’t want to try making it around in a rented Elantra. Just hope this problem doesn’t get worse until I get home.
I hope they documented the codes that were thrown in case it turns out those are the ones needed for the TSB.

So I fall well within the limits for the TSB but I was wanting to see if anyone had any warning to their transmission starting to go. I feel like mine is starting to get rough when I shift out of park and out of 2nd but I'm not sure if it's just me worrying or something to actually be concerned about. If any of y'all that went through it had any warning and could let me know I'd appreciate it, don't want to get stuck at 6am trying to leave work and my truck won't shift.

Were the codes for solonoids and same as what was listed in the TSB? If so they are supposed to replace the transmission and torque converter. It's apparently not supposed to be that you drive around after this incident and get stuck somewhere. I would check with them again and/or Toyota Corporate and see what the protocol is! Nothing worse than driving around with a ticking time bomb!

Oh boy - maximum empathy with what you're going through with the truck and in the middle of that bomb cyclone and atmospheric river combo.

Quick thought if it would help: if you haven't done it already, make an app't with your local dealer; also think about getting a OBDCII reader, one that can store/display codes in case this happens again so you can take and record a real-time reading. I have a "Blue Driver" reader that works with bluetooth to the cell phone that stores any found codes in the phone app and where you can also of course do screen shots. It's a bit more expensive than the others, but any one might work if you take phone pics of what it's telling you. Toyota should send a free Blue Driver reader to each one of us included in and covered under the TSB. Their "wait 'il it fails" position on this failure risk is reprehensible because of the safety risk it poses if/when it does fail. If I were an insurance company I would not want to insure a vehicle with a transmission with an enhanced risk of failure because of the risk to the vehicle's occupants and to the occupants of vehicles near them when it fails.

Looks like I got bit by the tranny bug. Just passed 12k miles on my TH. No warning signs of impending doom. Was on the freeway cruising along, then sudden violent jerking and the engine cut out. Pulled over and restarted the engine and limped to a service center. I’m over 200 miles away from home on an important work trip. Not sure what to do. May have to find a rental because I think they are gonna recommend towing it back to my local dealer. We’ll see…

Man. I’ve got a TH too. Sorry this happened to you. What in the ever living fuck did Ausin/Toyota do to shit the bed so hard on these transmissions ?

None of those codes are on the TSB. So if this wasn’t transmission related then WTF happened?? I’m actually more concerned now! Haha
