Is anyone having issues getting the Apple Car play to automatically connect when the truck starts up? I am having to go into bluetooth setting and turn on car play everytime. I have disconnected and reconnected my phone several times, and it doesnt seem to fix the problem. The bluetooth connects, just not CarPlay.

Maybe it has to do with the Apple OS (17.4) update from earlier in the week?

There have been a couple times when I've remote started the truck, but Car Play doesn't connect when I get in. I end up turning the truck back off and opening the drivers door so so the infotainment system turns off, then start the truck again to let it connect.

I found this on toyotanation.com and it worked perfectly:

"I think what is happening with your headunit and your iPhone is there is corruption in the bluetooth files happening between your Toyota's headunit and your iPhone's Bluetooth files.
Here is the fix and Follow these instrux carefully:
Go into your iPhone Network Bluetooth Settings and FORGET your Toyota in the iPhone Bluetooth, and then RESET Network settings in your iPhone.

THEN, go to your Toyota headunit and FORGET the iPhone. Then reboot the Toyota headunit by pushing in and holding the Volume button in the headunit for 5 seconds. And REboot your iPhone as well."

I had an hour of glitching around until I tried this and it set up CarPlay perfectly.

Does anyone have a problem with Sirius XM while phone is connected to Carplay? When I switch Source to Sirius XM it will play for a second or two then the phone tries to connect to Apple Carplay and flashes the name of the song I was last playing in Apple Music, then it will play Sirius XM for a second or two and repeat the process all over in a never ending loop of what seems like a software glitch with the Toyota Infotainment system.

When mine does not connect i just press and hold the volume button until the screen goes black, then let go of the button and the screen reboots and Bluetooth connection is then restored. A bit annoying but works every time.

has anyone found a solution for this?

I have to manually reconnect my phone every morning. then it seems to be fine for the rest of the day whenever I get in the truck. but come next morning, it won't auto connect anymore.

I am running Android 15 beta 4 so it could be that. I'm not sure.

Using AA, but it only works with a USB cord, and not every time. Kind of buggy.

So, as a follow up, I looked in the Tundra forums for people with the same issue since we have the same head unit and found a solution.

Go into settings, reset options, and select Reset Bluetooth and wifi.
This will reset all wireless connection settings.

So far, I've not had any issues with the truck connecting to the phone since resetting it.
Haven't had to manually reconnect the phone.
