On trash day, everyone puts the cans out away from the curb, and I can’t really get out of the driveway and turn in the street, without pushing them lightly. I also do this frequently with my own safety cones, used for my own reserved parking. With my 99’ I would just push ‘em back enough to get out. On the 24’ the buzzer goes off and it locks up when I do this. Absolutely frustrating!
The other thing I find difficult is the door window ledge is higher (or I sit lower), and I can’t really see parking space lines without opening the door. Again, this causes the transmission to disengage and park.
Anyone else irritated by this? Can either of these safety features be disabled?

for the driving with the door open to get a good look at something after it engages press the parking release and it will let you do It. it's annoying that you have to take an extra step but it wont reengage it again on you after you release it.

I think you can switch off park brake assist in the dash settings. I don't know if it stays off after every engine cycle tho. Does tow mode turn it off? You could try that.

I think you can just disable the proximity sensors in the MID. Not sure if it turns back on when you restart the vehicle though.

Will it not do this in the manual transmission? Because while you complain about it I reaaaaaaaally wish mine would've done this the week I bought her, I'd have one less scratch on my front bumper haha.

My proximity sensors were screaming at me but no attempt to auto brake.

That is how my truck is too. Maybe the auto brake is something that you can control separately, but so far I have not seen it.
Do you both ^^ have the auto park brake disabled?

Mine has activated a few times backing out of the garage, but ever since I disabled the auto-parking brake, I haven't noticed any activations with the sensors.

My auto parking brake is enabled, at least I think it is. I guess I need to check that to be sure.

I need to park really close to the front of my garage and it does put up large red banners in multiple places screaming BRAKE!, but afaik it has never actually applied the brakes.

Mine is enabled. Having an electric parking brake on a 6M is HIGHLY annoying so I like the luxury of just turning off the truck and letting the parking brake automatically do its thing.
