You are correct about the tank size being a missed opportunity to improve the truck. That said, I drove 2200 Miles over the holidays from WA to UT and back in a new Limited package with major storms each way and a couple of hours in 4H with an overall average MPG of 21.137. This isn’t much different from the 2019 TRD OR I drove the same route a couple of years earlier. The combination of better ride while maintaining significant off-road and towing capability made this fuel efficiency a real achievement by Toyota on my book. Otherwise I could have bought a Maverick or the like. Since I often tow, my only gripe is with the tank size.I feel your pain. Just drove from UT to WV for Christmas in a rental Durango that got like 450+ miles to the tank. Now I have to drive from UT to FL in the Tacoma and I'm dreading the difference in mileage and how much more often I'll have to stop and fill up.
Tank size is probably my biggest gripe about it.
