I’m in a busy city with a lot of traffic as well. For the record I really like my truck overall, not hating. But my city mileage is brutal. On a long hwy trip I can get 24-25mpg at 70mph but shorter trips in town or in traffic and I’m looking at around 13mpg, sometimes as low as 10mpg. I’m not heavy footed and drive this truck easier than any vehicle I’ve ever owned. I used to have a Mazda 6 that stated up to 38mpg hwy and I’d regularly get 42-43mpg in that car and drove it a lot harder. It coasted when foot came off gas. I feel like my truck breaks when I release the gas pedal it slows down so fast. Stock TRD OR.I live in Los Angeles and get 13.9 avg with 6k miles on the OD. The only time I see >20mpg is long highway trips with no traffic.
Didnt buy it for fuel economy but I dis expect it to be better than my 17 year old V8 4runner with >200k miles.I solved my fuel economy issue...
I bought a 22 Corolla SE with over 40 mpg and 500-mile range on 10-gallon tank.
Buying a truck for fuel economy, seriously.

I know; I was just pointing it out for context. I’ve found that around 35 PSI is the sweet spot—balancing less rolling resistance, ride quality, and avoiding premature tire wear.Tires heat up during use and that increases the psi a pound or two Over their cold Psi.
