I was told three diffrent times part would arrive, over 4 weeks for evaporator box.Mine is still at the dealer. Over 2 weeks now and the part still on back order with no ETA.
At this time yes,You took the truck back?
Mine is the middle of lemon law. Toyota started the process. At this time yes,

The evaporator box was cracked on installation, I was able to see the old one. The crack is not on a seam of plastic. I bet there are alot out there but people are not wearing flip flops like we do in fla to notice the drip.Mine is the middle of lemon law. Toyota started the process.
Yeah probably first year gremlins. The evaporator box was cracked on installation, I was able to see the old one. The crack is not on a seam of plastic. I bet there are alot out there but people are not wearing flip flops like we do in fla to notice the drip.

They showed me a video of it, and it is literally cracked. I have no idea how I drove it for a week and that didn’t happen, but I am beyond pissed right now and don’t even know what to say or think.. I love this, but I guess I picked the wrong one because it’s gonna be interesting to see what it’s like after they rip the whole dash apart. I will be lucky if it’s the same when I get it back.
Yep. Same here. My truck is on the dealers lot waiting for the part to arrive. They're going to have to drop the dashboard as well. If ANYTHING is wrong after reassembly I'm going to Toyota directly to see if I can get a replacement.Marinevet6113 is correct. If you have the same issue as the Pic I posted then your dash will have to be pulled out. Good luck. Personally I don't want that truck back if they pull out the dash because of all the electronics in it. I have been in a rental all week and am dealing with corporate. They won't let me even take the truck off the lot.
Toyota already started the lemon law process on my truck.Yep. Same here. My truck is on the dealers lot waiting for the part to arrive. They're going to have to drop the dashboard as well. If ANYTHING is wrong after reassembly I'm going to Toyota directly to see if I can get a replacement.
If you see the photos of what they have to do to fix, you would be shocked. Being a mechanic myself, I'm use to seeing a hanger queen ( helicopter) get put back together.Yep. Same thing happened with my 2024 Tacoma Sport. It's currently in the shop awaiting for the part to arrive. The dealer told me this will most likely be a recall in the near future.
I feel your pain
Thanks for the response. Same issue as mine. I'm waiting for pictures from the Mechanic for reference. They say it will take about 2-3 days to repair but it will be the first type of repair on this Make and Model (24 Taco Sport w/Premium Package). I've bought vehicles from this dealer in the past but never had any work done outside of normal servicing. I hoping my truck doesn't become a Guinee Pig for other 2024 Tacoma's they've sold.If you see the photos of what they have to do to fix, you would be shocked. Being a mechanic myself, I'm use to seeing a hanger queen ( helicopter) get put back together.
Here are photos on troubleshooting, rag by gas pedal to show leak. Photo of the cracked Evaporator box. Notice its where it was mounted. Because of this forum, I was able to quickly diagnose the crack was in the same location due to other photos. I hope this helps others with same problem.
