Is the oil filter able to be taken out without the skid plate needing to come off?

Looks like the trailhunter skid plate comes in a little cheaper than the TRD one. I know the TH has a steel plate, vs the aluminium on the TRD. The difference in price is relatively minor. Any particular reason you went with the TRD? It does look nicer though.

Looks nice. Can you post a picture showing where the skid plate stops relative to the rear crossmember? Trying to see what (if anything) is left exposed. I'm not planning on hardcore trails, but I would like more protection than the factory plastic skid plate.

You re-use the bolts from the original plastic skid plates.

Back in olden times we'd have just grabbed a hunk of angle iron or flat bar and made a mount in a couple of hours.

Yep. Off Road comes with plastic skid plates. I have the off road premium.
