I don't think we know enough at this point to know how wide spread this is, but not all 4th gen Tacos have this problem, just some trucks assembled at Guanajuato.

If you haven't seen any water so far then you probably got lucky and don't have this problem.
Honestly I don’t even wanna look lol I’m way to ocd. If it’s not dripping I’m gonna assume it’s good. My 3rd gen ownership was nightmares from focusing on things to hard im trying to just go with the flow on my 4th gen while staying informed but not going out of my way to look for problems lol if that makes sense

I couldn’t resist based on this post - went and pulled the cover off under the knee airbag on the driver side to inspect the HVAC box for cracks, None found, looked perfect. From descriptions, seems to be an issue directly from factory, but wonder how many happen over time.

It's a build date of February 2024 (02/24) And yes it is a 3TY - but aren't all the '24 Tacoma's built in Mexico now?

Intersting mines a 3/24 build 3ty . Yes but 2 different factories in Mexico. 3ty is Guanajuato and 3tm is Baja . The cracked evap cases only seem to be from the 3ty factory. No leaks on mine but haven’t visually looked at the box

Thought most were from the Guanajuato factory - didn't think many or any were from Baja... good to know. Anyway, I didn't take photos, but looks perfect when I took a look at it. I don't want to jinx it but at 6000km (3700miles) no issues with it. My bed caps stay down, body lines seem fine, tailgate is fine, no grill shutter issue. Some quirks with infotainment.... oh and the warped cowl at bottom of windshield is an issue on mine. My biggest beef with it is the vibration felt through the truck at idle when the HVAC is on.

Your correct Guanajuato(3ty) is where all the cracked evap trucks are coming from. My tailgate is fine too good enough. I have a slightly warped cowl panel too but so did my 3rd gens . I don’t have any vibration when the a/c is on although I can “feel” it when the compressor comes on and off. Slightly rougher shift from 1-2 gear in the morning . I’m sure that’s just a software thing though

If this is the same issue the rest of us are having look up under dash with your phone camera to the right of the gas peddle and take a photo (1st photo). If you see a crack on the piece that has the fins on it like in the photo then yes it is probably the same issue. (2nd photo)

They fixed your truck? How did the job turn out? If the job turned out good and it’s fixed why would you want it bought back?

It seems to be OK. I only drove it 2 miles so I really couldn't tell you other than it does have a new box. As for the fact of why I want the truck bought back.... well I didn't pay really good hard earned money for a truck that was broke from the factory. They had the truck longer than I owned it.

Have you not seen what it consists of for them to repair? A brand new vehicle should not have the entire dash, steering column, center console and both front seats taken out to repair. That is not a new truck anymore.

I’m a collision repair tech I’ve pulled dozens and dozens of dash’s to replace body panels. Honestly it’s not that bad of a job if you have a quality tech who takes his time. I understand your point though. Will you be buying another tacoma?

No I will not. This is my second tacoma which I had no issue with my 22 taco. I have bought 10 toyota's from this dealer. The way this whole situation was handle from the start between the dealer and corporate I am not going back to toyota.
