Removed it for the BedRug install and went ahead and threw it in the attic. Preparing for the OVS camper top to come in.

Cool. I removed my OEM one and put on a diamond back. Current plan is to add UpTop Overland racks bolted directly into the DB.
Nice! I've had one in my Tundra since it was new, 2008. Has held up perfect, I really like it. Only thing it remember to let it air out if it gets wet. Otherwise, great product. Especially if you do majority pavement

Great call on the sleeping pad. I’m going to give that a try for sure on my tailgate. Maybe with an old yoga mat or something. Depends on what’s in my garage right now.The full bed rug is really sharp. I went with bed rug mat instead. I had it on my previous tacoma. I also installed the tailgate mat. I put strips of military sleeping pad down to make it more comfortable as the tailgate doesn't have the same scallops the bed rug does. I glued them down with "Joe's Sticky Stuff" I found out about while watching TikTok.
I have two trailers I use for hauling so my bed doesn't get dirty. Plus, I keep a tarp when I'm forced to carry something dirty in a pinch.
And yes! Joes sticky stuff (aka clear butyl) is absolutely amazing. I use it at work every day ~ albeit for a very different use case. It’s so dang handy.

@StreeTaco I'm considering the bedrug for mine, having had longtime experience with it in my Tundra. Disregarding the tailgate area...how "dust proof" is the Tacoma box?
you can remove the bed rug in 3 minutes and pressure wash it clean. Think of it like a giant floor mat. A truck bed & camper/topper config blows away an SUV. You can't organize & outfit for work & play with an LC/4R vs what a Tacoma can do. I've had this bed rug in my long bed for ~4 months now. Only complaint is the tailgate latch tolerances. Compression over time should take care of it. But initially it's a tight close. Only a couple spots required weather seal (upper minor drafts on the tailgate). Otherwise my kit is hermetically sealed. Installing velcro removable bed rug pieces on my GFC side & front/rear hatches too for better insulation.
I have a 2 remnant pieces of bed rug that my great dane uses outside, that stuff is indestructible, going on ~5 years under brutal UV index/ high elevation, refuses to breakdown. Money well spent IMO. At minimum, the stuff is a knee saver. Makes for a super nice camp setup, extends the value of your bed at resale. fking no-brainer and stoked they designed a full bed rug for the LB gen 4 taco
