I'm coming up on 9 months and no issues except that it doesn't mute my radio when it reads texts. There is one place in a heavy shopping area near me that consistently drops for a minute near me, but that happened with my F150 as well... same place. Wireless CarPlay uses Wifi so it's possible I have used one of the store WiFi systems at some point and the phone connects to one of them momentarily because it's stronger and switches back .

I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and am running IOS 18.1.1

I posted about the same issue. Siri isn't picking up any talk to text. Volume does not mute. JBL audio also but not running any Beta updates. Apple and Toyota please collab and fix.

15 Pro max, no JBL, and have never had an issue with connecting. I’ve updated to the latest OS on my phone as well. Kinda strange how there’s no consistency with this issue. I agree with others for the solution to erase the truck from your phone and reconnect as a new device.

Constantly cutting out. When answering a call and then going back to Apple Music what was playing skips with me having to restart the radio every time.
While you're waiting to go to the dealer, try using CarPlay with a USB cord. See if there's any difference.

It's non-JBL and has no issues. It's usually a phone issue, even if it works with another car.

Might need to reset your phone first.

any other phone in the car's system? Mine would stop recognizing and run carplay (had to select it in settings every time)about a month ago, prior was always flawless. I went into the system and deleted my sons phone and since then its been solid enough.

The lease on my Audi is expiring and I'm picking up a Tacoma OR premium in a couple weeks (Can't wait! ).
The Audi's are notorious for flaky Carplay among other things, but what its related to (in my opinion and probably in your Taco's as well) is the Wifi and Bluetooth talking between car and phone. Once that gets out of order so to speak it goes haywire. Best thing to do is delete everything and start over, reset network settings on your phone as well, give it a clean slate.

Give me wired Carplay anyday. I know its a pain but its dependable.

Which I've been meaning to ask, will an Ipod work in the Tacoma's? Has anyone tried one?

Not as far as I can determine, which is unfortunate. I have an old iPod with all of my music, which I would love to use in my truck. Some of the music files on my phone are corrupted, which I didn't even know because I always used my iPod with my last truck. CaPlay works pretty well for me and I can reload my music library, but I would prefer to just keep on using my iPod.

If I am wrong I would love hear how this can be done, but from what I have read there is no Aux input in this sound system.

I wasn’t expecting it to work but disappointed nonetheless.
You’d think there would be an aftermarket solution, but perhaps it’s too small of a want for most people.
