You need to turn on adaptive cruise control vs. "normal" cruise control. Toggle the cruise control button, then when you set the speed it'll turn on lane centering.

Go into your settings on the gauges in front of the steering wheel.. toggle to LDA and turn it on..lane departure assist. I think that will turn yours on

Yep, like Vidman says, the settings in the center of your instrument cluster is where you'll find it.
I found a few things that were off I felt should've been on by default.
Go through everything there and turn on or off what you want.
If you don't know what the abbreviations stand for or what they do, Siri always gives me the answer or you can ask Google Assistant or Internet search it.
Lot's of good people on this forum and ready to help.

It’ll take a month or two to figure what you like, and what you don’t.

You are like me David because we have not bought new trucks in a long time. This stuff hit us all at once and it can be a slog, and this is from someone who works in tech.

Just don't worry about it, or expect it to happen fast. As you discover things figure them out or just ask us. Then do it again for the next feature, at your pace. YouTube can be a great resource as @Stebo19 said. I read tech manuals every day and the Toyota owner manual could be a whole lot clearer.

There are things my truck does that I don't understand and I figure them out as they come up. I told my wife (who also works in tech) that I might eventually sell my truck without understanding every bit of how it works. :)

For me, lane departure works all the time, not just when cruise control is engaged. The adaptive cruise control is more about controlling the speed of the cruise control which you set using the button over on the right. Actually had it on the other day and it’s pretty cool. It kept the right distance for the car ahead, even though I was going 80 all the way down to where we came to a complete stop without me even touching the brakes. Depending on your display if you look for what looks like a road with two lines on either side of it, whichever line is lit - and sometimes it’s both and sometimes it’s neither - that’s telling you where it’s picking up the line to keep it in its lane. I don’t mind it so I leave it on. However, I’m pretty good about not weaving all over the road so it rarely steers for me. If it does, that’s a good thing since you’re driving, erratically, right? Also, when you turn on your turn signal, it allows you to go into the lane instead of trying to steer you away from it.

Just to be clear adaptive cruise control and lane assist are two different things with different capabilities. No smarter than anyone else here, I just went down this rabbit hole a few months ago. Lane assist works all the time if you turn it on. It doesn’t steer the truck, it just nudges the truck back to the center of the lane if it drifts too close to the lane lines. I would not count on it to guide the truck through a curve. It is exactly what it says it is, an “assist” for the driver to keep in the lane. Adaptive cruise control will “control” the truck by steering it through curves, keeping speed, and safe following distance. In short, with lane assist you drive with its assistance, whereas with adaptive cruise control, the truck drives - sort of. Hope this helps, took me a while to figure it out too.
