Sunroof exploded & shattered on my 2024 Tacoma Limited (Photos Uploaded)

It’s Labor Day Toyota Dealership closed.
I was driving speed limit very loud, boom sound.
Sunroof glass shattered.
Any comments

FYI , MINE shattered yesterday.. I talked to Toyota and they are trying to get it resolved. Take a side picture. IF it exploded from the inside the glass will be pushed out. mine was. there are MANY lawsuits going on now about this..UPDATE Toyota will warrantee it. BUT u mite have to fight for it. No glass inside the truck and the glass being pushed up should prove to them it was NOT a rock,

Is that a small BB laying there? That could have done it.. HOWEVER if its not YES THEy do explode from the inside. Mine did yesterday. Take a side view picture to prove it to Toyota. Also there are 100s of lawsuits about this topic.. Search Online

I have no interest in sunroofs in trucks, I guess for city drivers and those that use trucks as a luxury vehicle it’s like any other car, so it’s ok I guess. I wouldn’t 4x or do too much off roading or truck stuff in a sunroof equipped truck.
At least the Tacoma has a small sunroof and not those silly full roof “panoramic” glass bombs above your head. I like the old sunroofs that were metal and rolled back, no light when they are closed but that is ok by me.
I’ve heard of them exploding in many brands and I guess Toyota is no different in that regard.

Mine just exploded today, got gas, got back in, closed the door and the sunroof rained glass. Hard to tell from the picture, but it exploded outwards.

This so bizzare, and seems to happen to a lot of trucks. And it isn't just a Tacoma thing, I read about this on other forums for other brands as well.

I wonder how long it takes to get a replacement.

@SpartanCaptain I think this is pretty rare and falls into the worry about it only if it happens category.

Catastrophic failures of glass moonroofs happen in all kinds of vehicles and I don't think there is any way to control it, so thinking alot about it is waste of time.
