How does this second post disprove what I said? You're belittling his/her comment to a lack of acquiring the Premium Package, which is incorrect. You also conveniently left out the part where you started the post by calling anyone you've read with opposing views a "complainer". Yikes

I'm glad you don't think you Premium Package feels cheap...that doesn't change the fact that I do think it feels cheap.

It's a discussion board, not an "attack anyone with differing views" board. You don't seem to be able to express an opposing view without insulting people.

My wireless charging works fine. I'm not sure about Android phones, but iPhones have strange charging algorithms to reduce the chance that you will charge to 100%. Apple slows it to hours in some cases just to encourage you to stop charging before it is completely charged.

Once I changed mine to only charge to 80% it charges in less than an hour when plugged in. Since I changed that it also charges quickly on the wireless charger in my truck. So the problem some people have could be a phone setting not the truck.

Hey @turbosix -- I've seen several people mention this or they wish there was a way to turn it off at least without having to pull the fuse. I'm genuinely curious as to why? I use it to hold my iphone and it seems to charge it up if the trip is long enough. I get if it doesn't work good for some, but why don't they want it there in the first place?
the qi charging pad in my 2022 worked just fine withy my pixel 6 pro and pixel 8 pro. the qi charging pad in my current truck does not. it charges for like 30 seconds to 1 minute then turns off for 30 seconds, then turns back on. this means my phone screen is constantly lighting up at the bottom of my field of vision making it seem like i'm getting a text or a call. super annoying. even more annoying is that it charges my wife's pixel 7 pro through a fucking pop socket with no problems when the pad in my 2022 didn't even know the phone was there. i really just wish it had a button to turn it off, cause it's a perfect spot to sit your phone, i just have to remember to put the phone with the screen facing the pad so it won't charge.

comment about tailgates that wont quote cause you quoted me weird
because quoting that "the big 3 all have fancy tailgates" isn't an accurate statement unless you disregard context. none of the tacoma size trucks have fancy tailgates. people are already bitching about how expensive this truck is, i'm sure they would not want to pay another $3000 for an optimus prime tailgate.

Agree on the JBL and the gas tank size. Should really be 24 gal. most of your other complaints are addressed in higher trims. Who wouldn't want more for less, though?

what I said was ”some way” of getting into the bed when the gate is open. I suggested a configurable tailgate, to which you replied the midsizers don’t have it - fine. But the other mid sizers DO have a step built into the bumper to get into the bed of the truck. Tacoma does Not. Think this thread was about what owners would like to see improved.

I was shocked the Limited didn't have a locking gas cap, but other trims do.

Also, no seat memory on the driver's seat? what is this, 2005?

I had only 2 things I looked for to replace my 2016 SR 4x4:

1) 4-cylinder engine with a manual transmission

2) coil sprung rear

The rest is all useless...
Exactly what I got!

For me it’s the plastic steering wheel in my SR5 (Canadian). Feels so cheap. Understand it’s the base model but Toyota could have used a vinyl or artificial leather wrap rather than genuine leather to save on cost.
I also have an SR5, I ordered a custom leather wrap from MEWANT for $50 cdn, I didnt do the best job installing it but it's much better than that cheap slippery plastic steering wheel. Looks and feels pretty good now.

As I said in another thread about this, the hybrid models have to have a locking gas cap because it's really just a switch to tell the truck to de-pressurize the gas tank before you pop the gas cap. Hybrids have pressurized gas tanks. Regular gas models do not.

I don't miss the automatic wipers. My wife's 23 Rav4 has them and they suck. They start out great when it's just misting but they rapidly switch to high speed, even when it's only lightly raining. I rarely use them.

I wish they offered more USB (not USB-C) ports in the armrest but ONLY of they can also be used as media inputs. The single media input on the passenger side of the dash is a terrible location. It's exposed to easy theft and it's exposed to the sun. Plus, it's the only media input port. The two under the dash are power only. This is just dumb.

Why did Toyota not offer a separate lock for the JBL center speaker? I can never leave the truck unlocked, even if it's just to run into the store for a coffee for fear of coming out and finding my center speaker gone. At least offer an option to permanently mount the thing. After all, how many of us are really going to pop that out to use as a portable speaker?

I also miss some way to get into the bed. To those claiming that this is a "midsize truck", you have to admit that it's taller than almost every fullsize pickup of year's past. I have toyed with getting the flip out step but it's ridiculously priced for what it is. I'd much rather have a corner step in the bumper, which is an easier solution.

As someone mentioned in another thread, when it snows, the crash sensors stop working and alarms go off. In my other Toyotas, I can turn them off while driving. I cannot seem to do that in this truck. There should be a button on the dash to turn these off/on. It should not be buried in some sub-menu.
