So this Tuesday
It’s after the election and those news cycles, and right before Thanksgiving.

They need the sell off all of the 2024 stock sitting around so it’s a good time to release some info before yearend sales. Start 2025 fresh with new colors, prices, and options.

They also need to launch the damn 4Runner.

Toyota USA Marketing is pitiful. I’m not sure what their strategy is, but they seem to be dragging their feet.

The GX 550 launched. Same for the Land Cruiser. Nothing would seem to be in the way of the 2025 Taco and 4Runner now.

I think They are holding off until they sell more of the Tacomas They’ve already produced that they expected to sell, but due to the economy and interest rates they haven’t sold this much as they hoped. Makes sense to hold off when you think about it rather than being forced into even more discounting because you’ve got 25s on the way.

Transmission issues is my guess, they are trying to make sure it’s all figured out before allowing more nightmares into their line up

My local Toyota dealer is stuffed to the gills with Tacomas, mostly SR5s, but a few sports and ORs too. They need to move those soon. Hot deals to be had.

Went to my local dealer saturday, they have 3 tacos on lot, i spent my saturday morning having my 4 runner serviced and put a deposit down on a 2025, TRD offroad, hybrid ….Bronze oxide, He told me along with sales mgr the 2025,s are in production…..guys waiting on trucks still need to check the last vins are all ready finished for 2024 and there will no longer be new vins for 24,
As far as the transmission issues those are corrected, they were a topic at this past dealer show…
The service mgr agreed with my concerns, he told me Toyota addressed as soon as the current TSB,S were added , moving forward from there things have been smooth he said …..so thats all i have guys. Looking forward to my new truck , 3-4 months he told me ,

And....this came up today. Fully loaded. Test drove it, got a deal price. It's the same out the door price as the Taco, albeit a (new) 2024. I'm literally torn!

Go with your gut @MustardTiger. They are both nice trucks and I bet you would end up being happy with either one.

There was a time when I would have said to go with the Toyota for reliability and resale value, but I don't know that is a given at this point. I love my truck and I love Toyotas but it would be short sighted not to admit that Toyota has slipped.

@TacoFreak it's a really tough decision! I love my old Tundra...but it's also "old Toyota quality". I want to believe that the new ones still have the same lineage and legacy of quality within...but it remains to be seen at this point. Even so, I absolutely love the Tacoma, and think it's the better engineered truck all around. Toyota puts a pile of money and time into the engineering and development of their trucks...it's something that's so important and they cannot mess it up (...I say that looking the other way at the 3.4TT engine debacle).

The Colorado does lack some features (no Homelink is available across the platform, rear seat back does not fold, no power passenger seat (only available on the Canyon), no lane centering driving assist, rear sliding window is not power, no aluminum body panels, only one body configuration, etc. The 2.7T looks good on paper (310HP/430TQ)...but actual road performance is quite slow, and loud. Sounds like a bucket of marbles. But...it does offer automatic 4wd! And the ZR2 sure does look cool. I worry about reliability, and lower resale value...

@evlfred yep it has both wireless carplay and android auto
