Toyota is really dragging their feet on the 2025 Tacoma Info....

Honestly im sure not much will change, perhaps the current shortcommings of current model, price Maybe, color. Hopefully…this is a new generation , im planning to write my check and buy new truck, if it blows up. Fuck it its under warrenty…we can , hope or speculate… is what it is… i need a new truck ive been driving toyotas for 40 years , im not leaving for the latest kia, or tesla. Lol.

My first Toyota was a 1980 Toyota Truck 4x4 with a 4 speed manual, 2.2l I bought it used with a 100k miles and drove it until it had 440k. Now I drive a 2007 PreRunner Access Cab 4.0L Automatic, just hit 202k. I am ready for a new PreRunner probably a 2025. Waiting to see if there are any new colors. Toyota builds awesome trucks and I think they will take care of any issues.

Too many '24s on the lots. Turns out, there are still a bunch of adult males who know they'll never open the back doors on a 4-door pickup or use a 5 foot bed. When the manufacturers realize 97% of pickup users (not living in suburbia with 6 girl children soccer players...) would like to have pickup trucks, they will be able to sell most of them. In the mean time, there are half a million well equiped, but too expensive, 4-door, '24s rusting away on the lot.

You are mistaken in believing most buyers don't want a back seat.

I've looked at all the mid-size options and they are all lacking in something. The Tacoma lacks memory seats which is a deal breaker. Everything else I could deal with, but I don't expect them to add it despite pretty much every other manufacture having them in their top trims. Meanwhile GMC/Chevy lacks lane centering, the Ranger lacks ventilated seats, the Ridgeline needs a redesign DESPRATELY, and the Frontier is just a joke all around.

Unfortunately I've all but decided to get a few year old full size. I don't want a vehicle that big, but it is the only way I can get all the interior features I want. Fortunately the prices on even a 1-2 year old F-150 are pretty dang good. Not that hard to get 25-30K less than sticker for the top trims. It should hold me over for a few years while I wait for better mid-size options.

Mine was a '93 4x4, single cab, 5 peed manual. Then I went to Jeeps, and now a Bronco, love the Bronco (2 door, Green), I'd love for the Tacoma to expand the manual to the Prerunner, and add an Army Green. I'm kinda over the hardcore 4 wheeling, most anything I need to get to is on a gravel road (WNC mountain biking) or the beach (surfing, kiteboarding).

We all have stupid little dealbreakers. Mine for Chevy was front parking sensors . I wasn't going back to an 8" screen so the Frontier was out. I wasn't getting another Ford after they were refusing to recall my 21 F150 valves because they were sure that most that had the issue had already died. NTSB forced that one on them recently. I love my Tacoma. Best vehicle I ever owned.

No, there aren't. Pre Covid it was perfectly normal to have many cars on the lots. You know why the manufacturers are making 4 door 5' bed trucks? Because that's what people buy. Do you think they're all just clueless? You can still do truck stuff without that extra 12" in the bed. I'm sure this was just a troll, but if not maybe you should go apply for an executive position at a car maker if you know so much

I'm giving 'Yota 30 days to offer a well equiped, extended cab, V6, 4x4 or I'm buying a Frontier. Why I can't get a decent instrument cluster or an opening rear window without buying a soccer mom's, 4-door, 4 square foot bed, whipped man's pretend truck, has to be some liberal plot to ruin the male of the species.

You better buy it quick. Small displacement is coming for everything. It's not the manufacturers, it's the EPA.

@bking Very true. Toyota knows exactly what sells in the greatest numbers and that is what they build. Sometimes it is a little more of a challenge to haul stuff in my 5' bed compared to the 6.5' bed in my Tundra, but it always gets the job done.

Some people just can't seem to let go of trucks with huge engines and poor fuel economy, but they are gone and are never coming back. It doesn't really matter what anyone thinks about that - it is just he way it is.

Yes, 5' is sufficient for 95% of what most of us haul. For the other 5% I use my trailer.

Exactly - any larger loads belong in a trailer anyway, no matter how large the bed of your truck is.

Yep. My wife is a foot shorter than me. Plus she is a country girl and will without question be wanting to drive my truck frequently. We have memory seats on our family vehicle and they are a HUGE quality of life improvement. I regret not getting trim with them on my current vehicle and will not make that mistake again. Also forgot to mention that no rear vents is also a deal breaker. It would effectively mean I could not drive my kids around in the long and hot Oklahoma summers.

I'm sure these things seems foolish to many, but I know what matters to me and what will make the most quality of life difference. It is a balancing act. IMHO my list is not that bad. These are fairly basic/cheap features that will ONLY affect the cost of the upper trims. Development and tooling is already done as the new 4Runner has them. It is just cost of the part. No reason for anyone wanting a "basic truck" to get upset as it only affects the cost on the higher trims. Way easier for Toyota than stuff like a different engine or cab configurations.

naw dude. I open the back doors all the damn time. And I have a long bed hybrid. Can fit a great dane back here. Takes 15 minutes to put the seats back in when family flies in to ski.

Really fast whip. Nothing but stoke. Keep your kit lean when you can, having a blast driving it. Heading to Canyonlands in a couple weeks.

What's the seat install/remove process like? I was thinking about doing the seat delete but I do have people visit once a month and might have to have someone back there.

I'm looking at the PreRunner, waiting for the 2025 to see what colors they are going to offer. Also into MTB currently riding a KONA. I'd like to see a stick shift too but I don't think that will happen. I'm just glad they brought back the PreRunner. Looking for other colors than the white, gray, and black. Also thinking of adding the ARB bed sports bar, no roof rack.

Did you test drive one this summer? Air Conditioning is super important to me as well. The Tacoma’s works well. Your children will be fine.
