I do find it funny that they are aware and have an explicit list of "potentially" affected VINs, but it is not a recall yet. Maybe I haven't owned (new) cars long enough, but that seems funky to me.
Likely based on risk analysis. There's no requirement to issue a recall if it's not a safety issue, and as long as the likelihood of a failure is below a certain threshold, it's in their best interest to just repair the ones that break rather than intervene proactively.

Comments to some previous posts:
1) If the transmission is not acting up or giving warnings (codes), the dealer will do nothing.
2)If a dealer tells you that "Hard shifting" is normal. Find another dealer.
3)Toyota Canada may put out their own TSB.
4)Refer to the first post for help. It's good to go.

I was a fairly early delivery, so not surprised to fall within the scope of the TSB.

We have yet to experience any issues with the transmission, but relatively low KM so far as well. Does this mean that should the transmission fail out of warranty, we're covered due to the known issue? I know that is quite a ways off, but confirmation of this would provide piece of mind.

If you have the same standard powertrains warranty as in the states (5/60K) you should be okay. If it's going to fail, statistically speaking, it'll most likely happen before then.

I had a 2018 Colorado with the shudder problem, and it was fixed with a TSB.

I had a 2018 Colorado with the shudder problem, and it was fixed with a TSB.
Seems like the common issues start with hard shifts from gear to gear, usually 1st to 2nd. Ultimately leading to only being able to get into gears 6-8.

The TSB has "B", "D", and "E" in the fifth slot. No "C" or "F" -- so no hybrids are included in the TSB
TIL I have the 588th hybrid Taco built based on this breakdown. That's kinda cool. This may be a reason why the hybrids were delayed, they may have seen some signs of this problem and made sure everything was retooled before starting hybrid/halo production. Sucks for those who were truly amongst the first 4G Taco owners tho..

This TSB says US and Mexico, so I don’t know if the VIN range applies to Canada? Anybody know?
Is there a separate one for Canadian VINs?
My truck is a Canadian vehicle and it falls into the ranges and prefix's so it'd apply to Canada... wonder in Canada if a cold snap is what's going to get the ball rolling on these transmissions.
